Just add in what you want.  No special rules, just make sure it's balanced (not too much tequila).  Brandy, bourbon, tequila, it all works. I have made something similar and it turned out really great.

Sounds awesome.  I am finishing off a bottle of Melinda's roasted habanero sauce atm, freaking delicious.  A tweak of tequila and lime would make it even better!
