D3's 2016 Growlog

Well 2016 is already fast approaching and it's time to start thinking about what to grow this coming year. Last year I started seeds in mid Dec and was running out of room for plants by the time plant out finally came. I think this year I will start the majority in January.

I was going through my seeds to send to a few and figured it was time to start formulating a list of what I want to grow.
There was a lot that I grew 2015 that while ok, I didn't see myself growing again and a few that definitaly made the grow list again. a few off the top my head being paper lantern, baha goats and moa bonnets. Just the right heat levels and great as smoked powders.

Here is my non official ever changing list. (so much for having a smaller grow this year...) Edited 1-6 to reflect actual current list.

Great list and I am pleased your crosses are doing well ... all the very best for 2016 and like you I am going for a slightly later grow than mid December ... most ended up on the dinning room table before the weather improved

Thanks me too, I just spent a while potting them up today. I'll post pics here in a few on the crossing thread.

sounds like a nice garden for next season.

Thanks, hopefully. I feel like i'm missing something and at the same time have too much. I had 86 plants last year with room for a few more but it was more than I really needed at the same time.

D3 is bringing the heat once again! 5 short months till plant out!

No kidding, part of me feels like I should be starting seeds now but when I mentioned it my wife looked like she was going to beat me to death if I ran any more lights lol. I'm trying to stay in the edible range this year but there is also a bunch of newer peppers in my collection that I wanted to try.

Looking good my friend. I'm still trying to figure out how to seed inside with a cat that is smarter than me. He can even open cabnets.

Good luck, even the coolest cat is still a raging asshole. I see them getting tipped over, chewed up and crapped on.

I'll look when I get off work if I have many more seeds. Pretty sure I saved some. If not capcom may have more

Starting my first round seeds for the year. I only have one heat mat so will start 18 varieties at a time in one 3" pot and then once germinated split the into other pots.

Can you elaborate more on the "black tea solution"?  I am having some problems germinating some peppers and I am thinking I might give this a try...

Thanks!

Also, great list and nice pics of the grow area.  Much appreciated.

if youre having issues germinating, try doing the damp paper towel method... i germinated trinidad butch t's in 4 days... damp paper towel, and place in a tupperware container, and put in a warm spot... works like a charm, best of luck

I don't remember the science. Something about acids and tannins. Though I believe chamomile is best for this. I didn't have any. Just some earl grey.

So, you are just making tea, letting it cool off, pouring it into your daily pill box and then filling each pocket in the pillbox with some seeds for an overnight soak.  Is that right?

kind of but I use mostly filtered water with about 10% tea guestimated percentage. Though like I said, chamomile is best for this as it has anti microbial action. Kills molds, mildew and what not.  I probably shouldn't even of used the earl grey as googling I found out is has an added oil from a type of orange. Not sure if that will hinder what I was looking for.
