Breaking Bread

Started baking some bread for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinner. Here are the first couple out of the oven.

I want to start hand kneading, but I need practice.  I will be curious if you see different results between the two.  
I've always liked having my hands involved kneading the dough as its quite a workout lol. But these days the kitchen aid looks like a great alternative.

My dear mother ... she begs and begs and begs for the mess that is BBQ basted chicken breasts from the grill ...
 
I turn her down all the time, because it makes such a mess of the grill and grates ...
 
I think I'll have to treat her (and myself) =)
 
A temperature controlled proofing/rising chamber?

I would think that is overkill for little added benefit...unless it is something else?
 
lovely looking ... nice evenly distributed crumb, too ...

i think i'm sticking to sloth today, Mexizza tonight ... and bourbon ...

will fire up the starter latenight for at least a single loaf tomorrow ...
