Trident's Bonnets 2016

Once again it's that time of year ... sowing miss labelling and no shows. Thank you to all that have helped me find new and obscure bonnets and hybrids. This forum generosity has been staggering and the Christmas Cards across the pond full of seed have worked well in both directions ... clone tent cleaned T5's dusted off

Having successfully grown Borg9, UBSC Brown and Yaki last season I thought I would again grow a few hotties after a lot of thought I have chosen four ... Aji Jobito x BBG7 - Fiogga (Sandra) ... alot has been said about Aji Jobito all good things ... seed from Joe Delaney and BBG7 from Chris Phillips - would be nice if everyone included a seed/variety in this year's grow of Chris's

I am sure Sandra would not mind me posting her photograph

Well we have all heard and seen the great work "Medecins Sans Frontiers" do around the world especially in war torn areas. Sandra's daughters partner is part of Doctors Without Borders and probably whilst her daughter might say "take care" Sandra may say "If you see a chilli grab it" .. I love a story so my second hottie is simply another of hers named "DWB Columbia Red with tail"

Finally third and fourth choice "Arkansas Peach" a Sawyer Reaper variation I understand - Pulpiteer ... Moruga x Douglah - Snagglepus ... Knowing me there may well be more ... thank you for looking

Looking good.  I look forward to seeing the range of variation among the bonnets.  BTW, what is the NeBru7?
John thanks for looking in ... NeBru7 is Trinidad Yellow SB x Yellow 7 pot Jonah. Named after Neil (Hippyseed Company) and his friend I believe from Western Australia Brian. One of my top three bonnets although a hybrid. Grows well and is quite a tall plant pods are about the size of a golf ball. I am sure with your heat and humidity you could better my efforts. Will put some seed aside should you wish

Your Arkansas Peach still continues to impress me and grows larger by the day

John your plants are so lush & green glad there doing so well .
Nice little helpper you got there.
Thanks Jason the weather has been too inconsistent lately but I am ready to get then outside. All repotted and hardened off. Your MoA Red is doing well ... sorry to read of your aphid attacks. I am sure you will overcome that challenge and have a great season

I just read up on it on their website, and yeah, the NeBru7 sounds like an awesome variety.  I'll definitely take you up on your offer of seed, if conditions still warrant when the time comes.

I'm glad the AR Peach is doing well for you; I just hope the one you have actually produces peach pods.  I'm not sure of the F number of that one, but it's definitely not high enough to be considered stable.

How's it going John? I bet the plants are huge. Must have pod's by now.
Hope all is well.
Chuck all well June was a really busy month but all calm now so I can relax and concentrate on growing chillies .... had my 60th birthday in Scotland with the wife and dogs ... weather was excellent never rained ... my dad at 96 still amazes me with his health but I am up to Liverpool most weekends to keep him company

Finally got a chance to catch up with your grow, John - really making great progress
this season.  The plants look great.

Congrats on reaching 60, my friend!  A real milestone.  I think I can remember that far back   :shh:

Love your Scotland pic.  The granite with the Libernum tree in the background is just beautiful;
they are called Golden Chain here.

Paul I was so lucky with the weather in Scotland and it had to be a BBQ with a good sirloin for my birthday .... that seems so long ago ... I think I prefer the name "Golden Chain" ... have a good 4th July ... In fact happy 4th July to all my chilli friends across the pond

Happy late birthday John. Glad you got away on holiday. My girlfriends parents take their caravan up to Scotland. Don't know where. I hear it's beautiful. They're from Lincolnshire.

Plants look amazing. You definitely have the cleanest greenhouse for sure. Nice and orderly.

Glad to hear all is well.

Thanks for sharing

Happy belated birthday John!

Your plants are looking really lush. Has your weather picked up yet, I've heard you've had a bit of a tough start on your summer.

What size air pots are you using? I've got 5 chinense in 3 litre air pots, one or two of yours are in them, but they seem to struggle to be honest with you. All five have what looks like dry tips, I think they might be recovering finally, but they are a bit behind. I put two aubergines in 6 litre air pots and they seem to be doing great in them, so maybe that's the magic number?

Alana I am always keen to follow the trends so popped into the hydroponic shop and invested in three airports all I can say is that they have yellow bases. Had to go on YouTube to ensure I built them correctly ... even that was confusing manafacturers said solid rows go to top to assist with drip watering and stop early run off which I fully understand ... second video had some US cannabis growers with the solid rows at the bottom ... as I am not growing cannabis this season I have gone for the first option ... will keep you posted. Yes weather in UK has been inconsistent ... need more sun

Looking good, John! How are the EOB's doing for you this year?
Stefan I have two good healthy plants one of each variation ... just need the weather now ... will post pictures

Thanks for looking in

Hmm, I'm not sure what size the yellow bottoms are, they might be larger than any that I have. I went with the solid rows on top as well. The problem for me is that I use peat, which seems to constrict itself when it dries up a bit. So even if it's solid on the top the water runs through anyway because there's a gap between the soil and the pot. So I have to water if either very often or long enough for the peat to start absorbing the water.

Anyway, I'll be interested to hear how they work out for you.
