seeds seed germination

is it okay to put my seeds under the light while its on during germination? using the paper towel method.

Wont hurt them... unless your lights are so powerful that the paper towel ignites... That would be bad..

Won't hurt them, but since no light is needed until they sprout it's pointless to have a light on them.

Light is an expensive and wasteful way to produce heat. Plants don't need the light.

Why are you using light for germination. Your just wasting energy as peppers do not need light to germinate. Nor will light speed germination up unless your using the light as your heat source.

its fine, but has no efect on seeds and germination. just waste of electricity...

I agree that a light is a waste until the seeds sprout and you see the first green leaves. I use heat mats and put my seeds on a tray with something between the mat and tray so they don't get too hot.
A tv/internet converter box is also great since it has a consistent low heat like a heat mat. If they are near a heat register you might want to check them more often since the flowing air will dry them out quickly.
