I want to do a special small batch of sauce for someone.......I notice some collector or fancy bottles come with the tops dipped in what I thought was just wax....but it is a lot more durable. Can anyone tell me what they are using and where I can get it from....any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check out-  NoChipDip

They make a wax that's pretty rigid when cool.  Some other waxes are soft when cool.  Depending on what you are looking for on the finished product, there are lots of waxes available at wine supply stores.

Also look for ZipStrips.  A small strip or string that goes on the bottle and allows consumers to open the wax coating without a Bowie knife.

You people hear on THP amaze me ...exactly what I am looking for Freedom89....and salsalady is always a library of knowledge....thanks for the quick responses.

Have used wax dip for cheese making.  Maybe wax would make for a better show?  Seems more gourmet than plastic.  It is very resilient.
Funny you should bring that up ajdrew....after doing some research I found many places to get bottle sealing wax........and the postman just dropped off 4 lbs of wax bottle sealing beads....I got 2 holiday red and two gold......from a place very close to me........
