The cashiers are definitely the most awkward out of the other stores in the area. One time I went in there to get some crafty beer. When I approached the register to check out the cashier asked how I was doing. Before I could give my reply the cashier said "oh good". Then she realized what she had done and I tried not to laugh. You could've cut the awkwardness with a knife.
 
Haha, I do/say crap like that all the time. When people tell me, "Happy Birthday!" my response is automatically, "Thanks! You too!....ummmm....the, uh....next time you, uh, have a birthday....."

One time I was a pall bearer at my friend's Dad's funeral. Afterwards, the Mom said, "Mike, thank you so much for helping me (bury my husband) today..." Without hesitation, I told her, "Any time! It was my pleasure!" :doh: THAT was awkward! :rofl: Thankfully, we both got a little laugh out of it, haha

That's one cool cashier. You misunderstood. She asked how you were doing... saw the beer, and said "oh good!" because the beer. :)
