Ok guys, here's another Native American recipe as promised:

1 cup finely ground jerky(I use deer)
1 cup dried fruit of your choice (I use cherries and blueberries)
1 cup roasted and chopped nuts of your choice(I prefer hickory nuts and walnuts)
1/3tbs chile powder
2tbs of honey
4 tbs of peanuts
3 cups butter

Mix all ingredients thoroughly and press in a shallow pan.

Cover with wax paper and put in refrigerator overnight.

Cut into bars and wrap in foil.

This will keep for several months depending on how hot the weather is.

This has been used as survival food for hundreds of years.

It's high in fat and protein to keep you going in harsh conditions.

Will update with pictures soon.

Sounds good. I like to put in a little rendered bacon fat also.

That looks great! Most recipes I've seen call for tallow (rendered beef fat) but that's a lot harder to come by than butter. Can't wait to give this a try.

I have a second pemmican recipe that calls for suet.

I'll post it next.

Sorry I haven't posted pictures of this yet.

Been trying, but, for some reason the imgur link keeps breaking.

As soon as it sorts itself out I'll post a picture.

I hope you're not stewing Michael Beck

Just a suggestion: What don't you place all you recipes in the same thread. That way it's easier to find them when ppl need them?

It's a stew that uses bison.

Will do.

Thanks for the suggestion.
