Just Like That!

I have been waiting and waiting for my habs to ripen. Then, finally a pod began to turn, then another, then two at a time. Now they are all ripening at the same time. I picked 20 off of three plants and went back out the next day and 20 more were almost turned. I am excited, but also concerned. Is it almost over? I am in Pennsylvania and my nighttime lows are around 58F Will there be enough time for another round of fruit to grow? Don't get me wrong I am absolutely thrilled with my results for my first growing season, (all my plants survived and produces a good amount of pods) but I have read of some people getting 2 or three growths from a plant. I have a few small ones coming, but nothing like what I have just picked seems to be on the way at the moment. Will they grow faster the second time? Thanks.

The season here in Iowa is nearly over. Night time temps are into the mid to upper 50s. I think that the changing sunlight and daylight hours are forcing most of my pods to mature faster. I know I won't have time for a another round of fruit, but its always fun to bring the plants in to let the last batch ripen inside.

Are Pennsylvania beautiful state yep light is going and im sure whats on there will ripen but chance of any fruit is balanced with weather conditions..so lots of late warmth and sun who no`s
spoke to somone last year who was having tomatoes and bell peppers growing fruit and maturing right into late november before frost but thats U.K,i hope you get some more fruit anyways
JayT :)

Yeah, it's getting down into the 50's at night here too. Definitely getting towards that time of year. It's ok though because I'm bringing them in under grow lights later on. You can still overwinter your plants like potawie does, and you can bring the plants in when it's that time, and stick them in the window to finnish ripening too.

I dont know about others or others that are more experienced growers but for me its basically a 1 time (real) harvest before my season is over. except for the couple pods here & there picked before the normal decent size harvest begins or what I can get after the freezing temps come when plants are inside just to prolong my season. but like I said normally its just a 1 time harvest from the plants for me :(

I'm in same boat like you in Ohio is the something hope that weather cooperate so my pods can ripe in time before temperature drops below 50's over night have bunch unriped pods & plants are full with flowers never see something that late before.
