The Count's Drunken Adventures In The Kitchen

I know we already have the drunken chef thread, but I'm going to start this anyway.  Almost anytime I snap a picture in the kitchen whisky is involved.  Don't let the beers with the plated pics fool you, I just crack one open to drink while eating since hot straight bourbon doesn't taste good with food to me.  The rest of the night is all WHISKY!!!  t didn't even know I had taken most of the pics I'm going to upload initially.  They date back to October 2015 or so and I just found them while uploading pics from the camera of a recent off-roading trip.

So lets start with Drunken Chicken Lo Mein…...

Next up is BBQ chicken, oven roasted potatoes and Ranch Style canned beans.

Tostados?  I seriously do not remember making or eating these!

Put a little cotija cheese on top and eat it with some Saltines

The Count.

Rocks chili with beans.

I am disappoint.

But only a little bit.

As long as The Count serves me up a cold beer.

With that bowl.

We're cool and the gang.

Ono grinds is ono grinds.

Looks good man! I'll take beans over pineapple and swiss chili.

Its my birthday today, so I decided to go old school for supper. My step Dad used to let me pick what I wanted to eat for supper on my birthday, hed cook whatever I wanted out of his cooking box of tricks. He was an amazing cook and was what inspired me to be the cook of the house, just like he was for me growing up. Im sure more than a few birthdays I picked grilled steaks and asperagus. Our steaks were always sirloin due to the affordable price. He would let me season my steak however I wanted when he started up the charcoal grill. He refused to put anything other than salt and pepper on a steak. So I would splash a bunch of Worcestershire on it and cover it in lemon pepper seasoning. He called it steak blasphemy, and was of course right.

So last night I coasted a Prime sirloin in lemon pepper seasoning and put it on a rack in the fridge to dry out. This afternoon it went in the vacuum marinader with Worcestershire. The asparagus get roasted in the oven.

Here Here!  Great birthday dinner Count!!  My own favorite birthday meal is grilled ny strip, baked potato (butter/sour cream/chives), grilled asparagus and a Hendricks gin martini!  Just like my own step dad let me choose when I was young.  ;)

I kid you not, the idea for this contraption came from the add banner currently at the top of my screen, Kielbasa bacon wrapped chicken bombs. Its butterflied and pounded thin chicken breasts with half a jalapeño stuffed with mexican cheese mix in the middle. Then its wrapped with bacon. Oven roasted until almost done, then sauced and broiled to finish. The sauce is a spicy mustard based bbq sauce.

And yes, those are flaming hot Cheetos and Fritos. I was making homemade Chex mix to take on our vacation next week

Well their sausages and chorizo are all good, and they participate in our annual Sausagefest here. I saw the add and figured Id give it a look. Recipe sounded good so I tried it and it was great. I think next time I might basted one in Franks Xtra Hot at the end instead of bbq sauce.

Made chicken gyros the other night. Grilled chicken that was marinaded in Italian dressing. Pan fried onions, bell pepper and jalapeños. There is a pico made from cucumber, red onion, Roma tomatoes and Greek dressing. Top it with feta cheese, pepperchini and Matouks. Oh and tzatziki on the pita bread
