Smoked Cocktails

I just got a new book on smoking and one section was labeled "Cocktails". Methods included taking a drink, such as a Manhattan, adding smoke and then covering it with plastic wrap for a few minutes. Ha anyone tried this? More importantly, has anyone tried this with beer? Tell me about it!

The plastic wrap method is definitely better than floating a Habanero in a Dr. Pepper.
Hahaha.  Did it create any heat?  I wonder what it would be like if you put habanero in water and then hooked it up to a soda machine?

Also consider chipotle or any other smoked pod. Pop a chipotle pod or two into a bottle of Tito's vodka. Spicy and smoky to boot. Also consider using the liquid from a can of chipotles in adobo for your bloody mary mix, but not the pods. Put them in a ziploc and just use the adobo sauce as your base, mixed with tomato juice, then your other spices.

Then, presto... smoked cocktails!

Hate gin! But yeah, chiptole spicy/smoky martinis sounds pretty good.
