seeds A pic of my Anaheims 20days after planting the seeds.

Just transplanted these into small pots a couple days ago. The substance you see on the leaves is dried Epsom Salts. I diluted a solution by 1/4 and sprayed the leaves lightly.

Exactly 20 days after starting by seed:

Very nice! What kind are they, Anahiems?

Also, what's with the dried Epsom Salts?

The Pepper Plants listed are Anaheims (as listed in the topic :mouthonfire:

For Magnesium. It's a great starter for small plants. Have'nt you ever heard of burying match heads under your new transplanted plants. I just do it a bit early but at 1/4 strength. Everything 1/4 strength at the point my plants are at now.

Pepper Plant Spray: A great way to help along your pepper plant blossoms in setting fruit is to add a bit of epsom salts to a spray bottle and spray it directly onto the leaves and buds as they are just developing. Epsom salts contain magnesium which pepper plants need to produce healthy peppers. Usually 1/2cup per Gal of water.

Peppers Like Matches: Pepper plants love slightly acidic soil and the simplest way to acheive this is by adding a few matches to the planting hole before putting in your plant. Be sure to cover the matches with a thick layer of soil before putting in your plant. It is important that the plant has access to the sulfur in the matches, but the roots should not have direct contact with the matches right away or they will be damaged.

D'oH!

That's interesting about the salts. I'll have to try that. How oftern should one use the spray?[/quote]

Every 2-4 weeks. Just alternate between your Fertilizer and Salts

I will also use Alaska Fish Emulsion when they get a little bigger. You can find it at Lowes in the Garden section. They say it's deodorized but I think not! **LMAO**

Here's a link to Lowes where they carry it online:

Dang that's fast. Good job.

Interesting info about the epson salts. I've heard that before but haven't tried it. I'm going to look into it...
