This is my first time growing the farmer's jalapeno, when it is ripe will the underlining color be green or red like most other
jalapeno's

Skullbiker says red!!! I agree 100%.That pic doesnt state that that particular pod is ripe.Go ahead a pick it green if you wish, personally Im rolling with Sk on this one.Its funny how lately it seems a whole bunch of new members sign up then post about a problem they are experiencing rather than introducing themselves in welcome first or they ask advice. Then counter an opinion or advice.Just me thinking out loud dont take offense just saying.....

Im growing these for the first time this year. Excited to see the misfit take center stage. I think its just like any other jalapeno. Pick green or red for a sweeter "ripe" taste.

kind of noticed that myself     :onfire:

I'm growing these for the first time, and am looking dorward to trying them out once the pods are ripe. Is anyone working on any crosses with it? It seems like that corking would be really cool to have on other varieties of peppers.

Another pepper with heavy corking is the Albanian Red Hot. I have a few plants this year. I believe Nigel did a review on this pepper and that's why I planted them. I just had one yesterday and it has good taste/ flavor.
