I think I have said it before, the good thing about CA's ipa series, if you don't like it a new one is right around the corner. 9 is a brut IPA btw, I haven't bothered with it yet. The bad part of course is that any you really love, probably will never be repeated.MikeUSMC said:IMG_8189.JPG

They have a new variant on their dry hopped sour I would like to get ahold of though. Peach, passion fruit, raspberry.
Very good Imperial Stout. 16.5% ABV is completely hidden, plus the peanut butter is very pronounced.

The combination of coconut, chocolate, graham cracker and tartness of limes should quickly slip you into a mindset of relaxation. Highly contrasting flavors, tease and challenge your palate through some dramatic turns and leaving you wanting another sip."

shout out to luvmesump3pp3rz - Very full bodied IPA and silky smooth! Just before putting on the steaks... delicious!
Double Vibes (All Berries). Epic berliner! This batch is nice and tart.

hey bro, they are local to me and they have a nice taproom and brewery setup. they are kinda new, open for a little over a year and what they make so far is very good but i`m wanting them to start putting out some good stouts and some fruit based sours. everything so far is your basic brews. i hope they expand their line. enjoy!WarrantMan said:shout out to luvmesump3pp3rz - Very full bodied IPA and silky smooth! Not so far off, perhaps a box may find way for you to sample likewise. The past several years some really good breweries have emerged in the greater Charleston area. A few off-hand of note: Edmund’s Oast, Westbrook, Frothy Beard, Tradesman (from my video) Holy City Brewing, Revelry Brewing and one I had just earlier Rusty Bull. All have their merits no doubt.
Several years ago, I participated (at the behest of a local brew supply shop) in an event called “Brew Ha Ha.” I am a hobby vintner and was invited as a contender in the “home brew” contest at the event. Event goers were given special coins to leave at the booth of the participant they thought “most worthy.” In the end the coins were counted for public vote. Me (my team) finished 10th of 19 contenders. Didn’t win any prizes but had a helluva time especially as I was the only wine guy in a beer contest. I think I gave away about 40 bottles of wine in tastings….
The pic to follow was my booth with my “special lady friend.”
I will leave a link to show all the contestants. The winners of the home brew event were called “Octohops.” They have since emerged here as a wonderful tap house called Common House Ales. I look forward to these guys to keep running hard and begin canning, they have some excellent beers. They won that particular event and rightfully so. Thanks bud. It was weird I admit. But the guys were always cool to me so I accepted the invite, totally blind as to what to do or expect.
Found out later that the promoters wanted a "different option" for the women, which was why I was invited. Lot's of beer drinking dudes with wives/girlfriends in tow. Not so much beer drinkers. But they killed the wine! The Almost Cognac was the biggest hit followed by the Banana that was an oddity to most. Once they tried it - they kept coming back for more (19% ABV) I recall.
It was the second annual event and I'm not sure 100% what killed it (there hasn't been another) but I think maybe it was that folks went to the homebrewer/crafter section more than the commercial guys for better beer. (at least that what rumor has it.) Why spend money for "regular" beer when you can get all you want of better beer in the homebrew area for no additional cost? No brainer. So the commercial guys pulled out. Such a shame. Such a cool event for the participants ... as well as the crafters. It is my hope that somebody may promote a totally "home crafter" event in the future. I'd love to be a part of that...

IN PERPETUITY (American IPA - 6.7% ABV)
"In 2014, I brewed an American Pale Ale - Beneficiaries of Chance - in celebration of marrying the love of my life, Lauren.. A year later, I brewed In Perpetuity to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Since then it has become a perpetual tradition, appearing in times of inspiration, renewal, and reflection. In Perpetuity is a beer that celebrates foreverness - in love, passion, and regardless of circumstance - the notion that what is good and beloved will last forever. It is brewed with a simple malt bill and two of my favorite hops - Citra, and Nelson. It pours a hazy bright orange in the glass and mixes notes of tropical fruit with a strong citrus backbone creating a beer that is both soft and eminently drinkable. We sincerely hope it can enhance and enrich the memorable moments in your life."

Me too, man! Actually, Tree House recently bought a 100 acre plot of farmland in Woodstock, CT that they're going to use for orchards! Sounds like they want to get into the cider game.
