What is going on with my peppers?

Sunburn is a possibility. I haven't seen any bugs or slugs.
I guess I will have to work to get some shade setup for these guys for next year.

A new wrinkle...
Last night as I was picking a small batch of peppers I found a small hornworm working its way around one plant. It would have been invisible except it had wasp larvae on it. Hopefully this will help some because I have been tossing too many peppers this year.
I may have a combination of things happening, the sunburn and this sneaky little bugger. This weekend the plants are getting a real close examination to see if there are any more hornworms on them.

This season, i pucked at least 150 hornworm eggs off my plants. I have found maybe 10 small worms and i quickly pluck them off and give them to the ants, they love them.
