This was given to me as a madame jeanette small plant from a Surnamese friend. It is obviously not. The pepper may not even be from Suriname since it was purchased in NYC but from a place that does get madame jeanette from Suriname. That pod is small about an inch and a quarter.

Looks like a Bradley’s Bahamian that Pepperlover sells. I got some seeds originally from Jamaica from a friend of my wife. Nice hot pepper.

That looks like like a C.frutescens to me,and a good mix-up IMO. You can see that there was another pepper at the node,typical of fruts to have multiple fruit per node. Could be one of many,and all sorts of generic names depending on where in S.A. it is from. Couple things are for certain. It will have thin skin and a flash of heat that leaves almost as fast. And it will be more useful for cooking than your typical thai varieties,not that stingy lip burning of annuums,or the shitty skins.

It has the appearance/characteristics of MALAGUETA pepper from Brazil from my  vantage point as  :hot: Gary Sanchez :hot:  hits 'nother home run for the NYY. :dance: :onfire:                                                                   
 
 
   MALAGUETA - very hot; Tabasco Type; 1 to 1.25 inches long by 0.375 to 0.5 inches wide; thin flesh; matures from green to red; upright pods; green leaves; 30 to 36 inches tall; Very Late Season (90+ days); from Brazil; Tabasco relative; aka Piri Piri in Portugal & Mozambique; C.frutescens.
