Our market called these Lemon Drops

Ive been over this with them in the past. Last time they were probably a Peruvian white hab. This time its these. Not sure what they are but the tip was quite mild and the stem end was milder than my lemon drops. Thin wall too. There was a peach colored pepper in with them. It was very hot. I thought i got it in the pic but.......The sauce i just made with them sure has some zip to it but not even close to a hab sauce.

You just brought back a memory.  Grew something labeled lemon drop on a small apartment balcony years ago.  Long before I heard the word aji limon or was particularly focused on hot peppers.   i remember eating them on salads.  What i remember was not particularly hot.  i am willing to bet the name 'lemon drop' might be one of the terms that has been used generically by nursery and farmers markets. Kind of like a person buys a jigsaw plant and learns its the ornamental variety.

There is a ton of confusion over Lemon Drop. Aji Limon for example is listed by Chileplants as Chinense and Lemon Drop is a baccatum. Im growing actual lemon drops and they look nothing like these BUT a Limon does look similar. Even Wiki has it wrong and lists them both as the same pepper.

I have no clue what ive got but its not a Lemon Drop. It did make a dam tasty sauce with whatever that peach colored pepper was .....and half an orange bell. This is the 2nd or 3rd time this market has offered a so called Lemon Drop and none of them have looked alike or like a real Lemon Drop pepper.

Im taking them up a few of mine next time i go there. The guy in the produce department loves spicy stuff.

That would be what I am saying, but more.  All the term 'aji limon' means is yellow chili.  Chili heads have decided the name refers to a specific pepper.  You mentioned confusion over it being chinense or baccatrum.  I agree with you that the most common and most correct Lemon Drop is what you and i call Aji Limon and it is a baccatrum.  But other people use the term lemon drop to reference other peppers, like what ever that thing was back in the day.  People use words and terms to mean different things.

They're definitely not lemon drop, and not any type of aji that I know.  By the looks, I would guess datil, but you said it wasn't as hot as a lemon drop.
