Super hot bonsai tree help

I'm looking to make a bonsai tree of my largest pepper plant, and I've done a bit of research, however I'm still a little confused when it comes to the soil. Is there a Home Depot soil I can use or mix to get the correct mixture? I'd really like to avoid shipping costs.

Have you seen that? It's a great resource. I have read several bonsai books, akadama (porous clay) is an important part because it holds moisture. Bonsai trees need to be watered frequently due to the small size of the pot they are in.

I am no expert but would recommend something like Miracle Grow Moisture Control (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Miracle-Gro-64-qt-Moisture-Control-Potting-Mix-75561430/204502288) and possible look at mixing in some perlite and/or vermiculite.

Despite needing a lot of water, er, water frequently, the roots still need to drain and breathe and can't be sitting in sopping wet soil.

Hope that helps, please post back on success or failure, I'd love to learn from your experience.
