Picking new batch on Sunday for Monday mail: SFRBs Supers $20.00, your choice

Rob,

Feel absolutely free to tell me your needs!

No; I do NOT grow in ISO except for when I'm trying to bring a cross to stabilize; often, more often than not, crosses are happy accidents that we try to perpetuate in ISO to get to F6+ which means the hybrid is now stable. Then again, there are people on here, me being one, who wonders what X would taste like if crossed with Y with Y being the mother and X being father, as crosses can go in different directions, genetically speaking. Mama and Papas. And such.

As a dear, dear old friend on this site told me a long time ago when I asked the same question, "Yeah, sure: the major seed companies grow fields of bhuts in total isolation from morugas. Riiiight." No; they don't. And given that they don't and we buy seed from them, isn't it amazing that a Douglah--by the way I have those too--turns out to be a Douglah the following year??!! Usually they do.

I do grow some plants in isolation and have created specific raised beds FAR from pepper fields to keep genetics as pure as possible, for the purpose stated above, stabilizing. But dang, a winged bug can span some distance even then. Some people use cloth/bags, and have done that but is easier for me to use space to iso because have the space to grow "a ways" from the major field. Have saved seeds long time and again, still working on same Douglah seed had when seed pods 4 years ago. Same seed stock.

Peace, hon!
Annie

I wasn't intending to call into question your isolation methods; I applaud ppl for experimenting with crosses and trying to establish new strains (although I'm sure not everyone is as responsible with it as you seem to be) and i do think that a lot of ppl are uptight about this stuff, insofar as at the end of the day, they're all peppers...

But, enough of this hijacking of your F/S thread (and I apologize); I'm gonna PM you with specifics, and to get your PP info....

Guys, the seeds are inside the pods FYI ;)
yah, they sure are, but i already have a metric buttload of peppers in the freezer..wouldn't mind merely having 'just' the seeds so i can grow them out next year when most other spicy resources have been depleted.  and yes, i over bought this summer, + the plants i grew are friggin loaded. INUNDATED!

Rob, hon. We're so good, if you are.

And ya know, it's kinda what ya last said. I do this because it's fun, love the community of honest, hard-working folks. 9 outta 10 of us just want to, honestly, light each others fire. Like Jim said. Sang? You're cool to ask about methods!  How else do we learn?

I saw that comment, Harry and was, "Rutroh." I thought of you.   "Metric buttload." "Metric Buttload" should be name of a band.

Smoke 'em, dry em, powder 'em, put em in peanut brittle, brownies, jam, jelly, ice cream glaze, make sauce, gallons and gallons of sauce. Geez. Next we got freezers and one freezer belongs to peppers WHICH is rough because pork butts were on sale other day and I bought "several." Made a mango pepper jam to get rid of some Reaper'n Hab to have a place to put butts, buttloads of butts, so yeah, man. Most years I'm definitely where you are and :stop: . That's a good thing, a definite sign of a head, OCD chili-head.

But since I've been away, I want to taste some stuff I missed: however, your point is absolutely righteous and heck yeah, will hook you up with some seed later. PM me about specifics, as am not done saving, which is the OTHER thing we do with fresh pods, lol, save seeds forever and (cue finale of "Hallelujah Chorus" ♪♫♫) forever  :D . Peace ;)

"Metric Buttload" should be name of a band.

Of course I'm good.... i just sometimes get oversensitive about ish like this... didn't want to give any wrong impressions, or otherwise jam-up anyone's ad.  But, obviously, you're a chillster who's got a vigorous pepper biz going, so my paranoia was misplaced.  I'm new to THP, and i guess i'm still unused to online communities where most folks are so laidback and friendly.

Incidentally, i agree about Metric Buttload; I'd buy tickets at the door for a band like that...no doubt about it.   :P

Rob,

Yeah, we try to be friendly! I can't speak for everybody but a grain of humility makes it lots easier to be friendly and responsible.

There are for sure some uptight online forums. I don't do those anymore. Life's short but wide. Got better and more fun things to do. THP people are good folks, man!

AND everybody is sensitive, hon! People tell ya they aren't are lyin' like rugs. Keep a small mirror at ready to stick under the next of nose of the self-declared "non-sensitive" person. If they alive they sensitive to some degree. Or they're a serial killer and that mirror was a really sh*ty idea.   You be just fine, man! Have a FUN Saturday!

hi annie, guess i have to get a little more creative with the peppers other than stuffing surplus in the freezer for later sauces..just got a dehydrator the other day so i'm startin to broaden my cullinary horizons..and yes to 'metric buttload' being a kick-ass band name!!

AND salts! Am gonna share this (is a Waryright/Kevin stroke of genius) and I should have thought of it, kicked myself. Making pepper salt shouldn't be about mixing salt with pepper POWDER but mixing salt with fresh peppers. Mix like 1/4 inch pieces cut up peppers with course sea salt in big glass jars and as the salt absorbs the juice of the pepper, add more salt.  When no more juice, remove pepper pieces. Next, dry the infused salt. Grind to coarseness wanted. Can make delicious popcorn salt that way!

Yeah, it becomes an investment with "what to do with pods!" but well worth it. Reaper-Jalapeño wine. Pepper ferments, which are lacto-bacilli based, rather than yeast. All kinds fun stuff! Enjoy!
And folks if ya want pods am picking today! And as always, thank you!

Okay, this post is still active: I still have pods. Sold a box today, okay? Talk to me here and PM me!

Thank you,
Annie

I didn't get this message, Rob aka didn't check phone, computer.

LAST BOXES, MFRB $35 all supers, SFRB 20$ all supers, are heading out this week and weekend before we get cooler weather. No; no pickin, esp. on the MFRBs. I might allow some SFRBs to "pick and slide." I want to send you hard  healthy turgid pods so hit me up ASAP, okay.

Rob, am sorry I didn't see your message, hon. The Aji Limon and SBonnets are gone bye-bye. Otherwise, these guys are hanging tough to vine and most are hard or turgid or ya know what I mean!

Thanks!
Peace and respect,
Annie

Got more boxes out this morning and more boxes left on vine pick and to shoot out--SFRB or MFRB and $20 or $35. Hit me up here or PM me, I go pick when PayPal happens. Pretty weather, highs in 80's, no rain next couple days.

Thank you and respect,
Annie
