Hello Pumpkin

  Recently, I have been learning to cook and bake. I just made my first pie ever! Today I made a pumpkin pie from scratch. Scratch meaning that I made the filling from a fresh pumpkin. I used a pre-made crust. I don't know how it tastes just yet because it is still cooling. The filling did taste very good when I sampled it before baking.
  I roasted the seeds.  First time for this also. I followed a simple recipe. A little olive oil, salt, and pepper. They are fantastic!
  I had a little pie filling left over so I made some pumpkin muffins. They turned out ok. The tops are awesome but the bottom is a little bit too moist. Just a little. I nailed the flavor, though.

Spicy, yes. Pumpkin spice that is. Heat, no. Since this is my first time attempting to make any of the three things that I made today, I just followed some basic recipes and I followed them exactly. 
 
I guess I should have taken the pic before we ate it. Since there are only two pieces left, I would say this pie was a success.
