Help IDing.

Hello,

Bought some seeds a year or so ago and finally got some pods in the last couple of weeks, the seeds were sold as Carolina Reapers but I'm pretty sure they aren't. Was wondering if I could get some help finding out what they are.

I see your new here, Welcome to THP  ;)

My first reaper plant put out very small pods, but they were really wrinkled...heat was as hoped for.

Is that the first pod? maybe things will improve as it continues to grow?

Have you tried eating one?

someone else with more knowledge should have an idea.

Haven't tried eating one yet, I got a bunch of pods around the same size and shape, but this is the first time I've harvested, I'll probably give one a go and report back.

Update: Just ate two, very hot, but not having eaten a reaper before I don't know if it's on par or not, need to get a confirmed reaper to compare. Very good taste too though, not fruity like a habanero but very good taste to them.

Indeed, it does not look like a Reaper or even a chinense. Plus, if you can eat 2, that also implies not Reaper. Or it might be like my miniscule seedless Hab and have weirdly little heat I guess.

yeah if you are eating 2 pods, it is most likely not a reaper! On the bright side, if you like the taste and are happy with it then continue to grow it! I get random crosses every year that I grow out and enjoy.
