contest Growdown Throwdown 2017 Aji Lemon Drop!

Haven't paid any attention to this site in forever due to being super busy with other parts of life.  Wished I'd seen this growdown long ago, because I would have loved to participate. I grow this type every year as it's one of my favorites.  For funsies, here's my late season harvest from Thursday.  Lemon drops alone ended up weighing in at right at 1,200 g.  Poor plant was drooping from all the pods weighing it down.

This puts me a bit above 2,600. Gonna be cold in the AM!
You are kicking' my heinie, Scott!  Even with the last bunch of green pods,
which I didn't count, I wouldn't make 2500 grams! Good work bro - let the
Tejas weather do it's thing! I hope you get some more good podding weather.

My next harvest is gonna be wayyyy short of previous ones! Frost nipped at the tips of all plants that one really cold night, but everything is still vegging at inner canopy nodes. There may be one last Harvest for the garden plot yet! I can tell you this, we are going into December! Ha this is nuts.

Yeah, Scott is pushing the limits with his plant!

Guys, you got me hooked on the lemon drop and I didn't even grow it :D Hell, I never tasted a lemon drop in my life (this is my seventh year with peppers).

Compliments to everyone! Now I'm going to order some lemon drop seeds...

Guru, you should sell seed from your majestic plant as "Guru's monster lemon drop" or "Pepper L" (just kidding).

But seriously, @Pepper-Guru, do you think your lemon drop is this big only because growing conditions or did you aside of that got a little lucky with the plant's genetics?

I'll get another pull this weekend; and then I hope to keep it alive when the mid-week cold front blows in. I may just try the Christmas lights trick with a sheet over the old gal...LOL

It would be really cool if I could get the full 12 months, just because I want to.

Thanks to all that have participated.

This has been a blast!

You mean all of your plants don't get this big?! hmmmm guess I just get lucky with every plant, every year!  ;)

I've decided not to harvest yet! Plant is looking FUGLY but plenty of pods left on her. I'll see you at the finish line!

Ha!
My gal is looking FUGLY too!

A few light touches of winter have swung by. But it still has a bunch of pods on it. As for the finish, not to worry at your house...LOL

As for around here the leaves are turning and dropping on all but the Citrus and Live Oaks.

Watch that cold front next week!

This thread is awesome! I'm amazed at all of you guys for growing those monster plants!

Just curious, what did you guys do with all of your pods?

Can't wait to have lemon drops among my plants next summer. (Already started the seeds)

Any plans for a Growdown Throwdown '18?

Sauce, mash, powder, jelly, finger foods, all the above!

I'm down with a 2018 for sure! We should probably start thinking about strain selection now if so, huh guys?
