Chipotle Ginger Fig Coffee Cake

Haven't made a cake in a while and since its so cold outside I figured would be great with a nice big cup of coffee.

2 cups buckwheat flour
1 cup apple juice
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup fancy molases
5 large dried figs sliced up.
1/2 tbsp dried Ginger
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4tsp cinamon
1/2 tbsp coco powder
1 tsp chipotle
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
salt

nice and moist, sliced and added my Orange Habanero jam in the center, topped with grated coco paste.

That looks good.

I'd probably be tempted to take it to the realm of unhealthiness ... like ... a nice, heavy carrot-cake-style creamed cheese icing ...

I didnt have anything to put on top, kind of depleted in my fridge, need to go shopping.

Us too ... heated up a can of carrots, an apple, and a handful of raisins earlier with some ginger, brown sugar, and cinnamon!

So there's no actual coffee in the cake? Probably a good thing, given the number of flavours already present. Bet it's good though.

Damm that looks good. That color! YUUUUUMMMMM!

What planet are you from? Coffee cake = cake that goes with your coffee.
Oh wait, you're always right.
So in the UK, is there any "high" in "high tea"? No, I doubt it.
What a troll.

This feels like a dramatic overreaction. I was confused by the lack of one of the named flavours in the ingredients, nothing more. I didn't say it aught to have coffee. I never even suggested that Dragonsfire do things differently. Why are you acting as though I'm treating my way as the only way?

Also, the high is in the price. Obviously.

FIFY

It's a reasonable question especially from another country.

Honestly, I think coffee cake might mean to the british what it does to Scovie but, as someone who has made cakes with coffee, that meaning is not the first association I make with the phrase. It doesn't seem to come up a lot here either.
