Hello from Coatesville PA

Hi Everyone,

My name is Will.  I live in Coatesville PA which is a western suburb of Philadelphia PA.

I've been growing cayenne peppers in my backyard garden for the past few years.  My favorite peppers are the Italian Long Hots which I always order on my hoagies here in the Philly area.

I was informed a few years back that Italian Long Hots are really large cayennes, and in my quest to grow my own Italian Long Hots, I've grown the open pollinated Large Thick Cayennes, Hot Portugals, Maule's Red Hots and Yalova Charlestons as well as the Mesilla and Iberia hybrids...I love them all.

I'd like to try growing other types of mild and medium hot peppers next spring, while also experimenting with isolating my pepper plants so I can save pure seed from year to year.

Looking forward to learning more about pepper growing from the forum.

Best regards,
Will

hi  :hi:

and  :welcome:

There are so many peppers that you will soon discover and hopefully enjoy as well

a couple mild peppers that i think you might enjoy based on other peppers you have already chosen are;
Melrose
Jimmy Nardello
Sandia
Footlong sweet
and, though not as large as any of the above listed, Calabreze Mazetti is a fantastic Italian pepper with a mild-medium heat.

All,  Thank you for the warm welcome!
GIP,  Thank you for the pepper recommendations.  Time to put in another raised garden bed!   :)

Hi df...here is a pic of the longest pepper I grew last year...it was an Iberia hybrid about 13" long. Sorry for the poor pic quality...I'll try to improve my picture taking skills this year.
