seeds "Carolina Reaper" seeds bought from Pepper Joe

I'm growing these indoors, in my grow tent. Bought Reaper seeds from Pepper Joe, but sadly, these do not look like Reapers. Any idea what they could be?

(Why am I suddenly unable to figure out how to add images to this post?)

looks like a reaper crossed with a habenero... def looks like a cross... i dont recognize it... def not reaper

I hate when that happens... waste all your time expecting one thing to find another... Everyone here has been very kind to me so ill pay it forward... PM me your address an i will send you legit reaper seeds...

When did you get the seeds? I recently had a pretty in depth conversation with the folks at Pepper Joe's and they have changed ownership and seem to be working really hard on rebuilding their brand.

I got some seeds from them for the 2016 season that I wasn't thrilled with, and they made a very nice offer to provide some replacements for me for this season.

Purchase date: 06/21/2016.

i dont understand why anyone would buy the company and try rebuilding a brand. better to buy it and rename it entirely  or just start your own. sounds odd.

Yes! That is what I am most upset about. And growing these indoors, with the lights and heating/cooling energy costs, is an expensive slap in the face.

Thanks for your offer! Very generous. What can I trade you for them? Tequila?

its not even  the money its the time effort and anticipation you invest that makes it a real f**k you slap in the face and i have had it done to me multiple times and it sucks . my offer stands

I know some plants form odd pods at first, just grow it out and see if the next pods are correct. I had a Hab do that this year and the other pods were normal. I think it was from cool temps early this year and it affected the flowers. If nothing else you now have a cross to play with just like Karoo said.

Edited to add; I just checked the pics I took and it was in June so I don't think it was the weather, here's what it looked like but all the rest grew normal so I don't know why these things happen.

That's the worst... Sorry to hear the seeds were not true Carolina Reapers, hopefully the heat level and flavor profile are similar to the reaper.
