SB7J and NeBru7 both in my top three for SB hybrids .... if you haven't grown these before you will be treated to two great peppers. Wishing you all the best for 2017

Thanks!!  Now I'm excited!

Nice evenly distributed varieties across the heat range, Nick.

Good luck this season!

Thanks!  It's tough to constrain my grow to my small city garden.  Every year we find more favorites.

Thanks, I always have to grow a few supers for the one night a month I feel like ruining my morning.   :flamethrower:

January 10th update
Not as much progress as I would like after about a week.  My first issue was my fan.  It was moving too much air around inside preventing the germ trays from reaching 83F.  Then my temp sensor fell out of the germ tray and heat soaked.  This caused the exhaust fan to run all night, dropping the ambient temp.  THEN my HPS bulb failed sometime last night so I had to swap in my MH from last season.  Those are my excuses for a slower germ rate compared to last year.   ;)

Let's hope all of the issues are out of the way.  Knock on wood

Good news:

New seeds from Pepper Joe (PJ) and Juanitos (J).  That should end my pepper seed starting for this year.

PJ Pumpkin Hab
PJ Hungarian
PJ White Hab
PJ Jalapeno
PJ Boldog Paprika
PJ Jigsaw
PJ Yellow Ghost

J SBJ7 F5
J Chocolate Moruga
J Jays Peach Ghost Scorpion
J Scotch Brain F4
J Paper Lantern Hab
J Scotch Bonnet MOA
J West Indies Red Hab
J Cumari Do Para (These smell amazing... I almost ate them instead of planting them)

I ordered a replacement bulb for the light:

We will see how dual arc works.  Seems like more to go wrong to me...

Germination update:

Carribean Red Habs OP 2016
Carribean Red Hab OP 2016 with spiked pods
Long Red Cayenne
Bahamian Goat OP 2016 with long tail
Chile De Arbol

There might be others but I didn't want to lift the lid.

I hope no more equipement failure now!
Good luck!

Let's hope so!  Thanks!

I did some potting up tonight.  Some of the plants were a little small, but I'm not sure when my next opportunity will be.  I'm trying some cheap containers this year in place of solo cups.  The hope is they will be easier to bring in and out later in the year.

It might be cold, but I'm really happy that I sealed and painted the floor in my office / project room.

The dirt is in the box to keep the cats out... but the cat ended up camping in the box.

Thanks for stopping by!   :onfire:

Nice start!

And good luck with your grow!

And regarding pets, the first garden fence was to stop my dogs from "helping". For some reason they just needed to dig up anything I planted, because they could

Thanks!  Furry friends seem to like to 'help' in any way that they can.

I have a long way to go to get to this random motivational photo from spring last year:

I start with ocean forest too, just had some guys at a local Hydro shop tell me it's too hot for seed starting.
That would explain the seeds that popped 2 days after sowing without pre-soak /sarcasm.

Anyways, I'll be following your grow, looks good so far!

I've heard that too, possibly from the same hydro shop  ;).  I've never had a problem with seedlings in ocean forest.  Maybe other plants are more sensitive...

On the way to a killer grow!

Thanks!!  I only have room to plant out 40-50 plants, but I like giving/trading away the extras.

Hey pepper people - love stalking the glogs every morning!

Life has been pretty crazy.  I'm in the process of changing jobs.  I've only had one job - so it's new territory for me.

This is also week six of no alcohol during the week.  Before Christmas, I would kill 3-4 craft brews a night.  It was killing my waistline and my wallet.  So shortly after the new year, I switched to drinking hot tea during the week and doing Body Beast.

Thus... the poor peppers have been neglected.  Hopefully this weekend I will get a chance to space them out.  Thanks for stopping in!
