Dennish 2017 - It's Chilli in Yorkshire

Happy New Year!

Still deliberating over my ‘final’ list as per usual!  It will be 'more of the same' with some small tweaks here and there, and no radical changes in approach from me.  I feel I’m close to optimum in terms of squeezing the maximum potential out of my small greenhouse space (8’ x 6’).

Here's my current thinking on the line-up and GH layout, likely to change a bit;

The game is now afoot!  Early sowings in my trusty Garland Fab 4 on New year’s Day;

I’m having a major extension on the house this year in spring, so hoping that my grow won't suffer too much.

Wishing all my friends at THP a bountiful 2017.

Cheers,

Dennis

Couldn't resist a few pics of the plants today in the sun!  Growlight now fully retired and natural light only.

Operation Takeover is well underway, ornaments removed and the troops are taking up positions!  :lol:

First pod of the year is from 6 year old TS CARDI, nicely lobed and filling out every day!  I've introduced a half strength feed of Greenhouse Sensations Nutrigrow for the old boy now, every other watering at first.

Here are the Bodysnatcher F3 plants, really rocketing... I'm watering every other day as there are lots of leaves to sustain from those small pots.  Early flowering and fruiting is the goal so that I can select the pod shapes I want to grow on.

A couple of special late starts starting to grow a bit too...

So time for a long overdue detailed update from me... things really going well with the grow so far this season although the inevitable space crunch / headache is now fully upon me with big pressure to free up the windowsills in the house.

Had most of the plants out on the decking for a photo shoot this morning  8)

First up (left to right), White Naga, Rocoto and Big Yellow Mamma on the back row and Embassy Naga, White 7 Pot and White Bhut W Strain in the front row.

My plants given the luxury of a 3l pot-on next, SB MOA, Lemon Drop and Yorkshire Barghest all pushing on massively now and ready for final pots.

Yorkshire Barghest F1 a beast amongst beasts, very excited about this cross and it is highly vigorous... destined for 15l AirPot.

Growdown Lemon Drop, topped early... now back with a vengeance and exactly what I had hoped for at this stage.

SB MOA for LOTG biggest pod comp kicking-on and ready for action!

6 Year Old TS CARDI, what can I say?  Coated in flowers, podding up nicely.  I'm convinced the Bloom Booster is having a positive effect on the number of flowers.

And finally (phew), annuums, toms and baccas straining at the leach in 9cm pots where they will have to stay for a few more weeks yet I'm afraid!

Happy growing all, looking forward to catching up on your glogs over the weekend  8)

Yowza! That's what I call a result, well done Dennis! I hear ya 'bout the space crunch and chiles straining at the leash, in the last week or so they've been growing explosively here as well. Those last few weeks until you can get your plants outside are the hardest to wait through. Keep up the good work!
