Need a pepper to......

Increase the heat of my lemon drop hot sauce but not give it the Chinense flavor. It needs to be yellow too. Are they any of the Chinense family like the Fatali milder in terms of that flavor?

My other thought is growing Aji Cito. They are supposed to be about twice as hot as a lemon drop.

I did not find the Aji Cito to be anywhere near twice as hot. Of all that I grow or have grown, the least to taste like Chinense is the 7 pod white, all my powders keep the flavor of the pod but I am sure you can find some pods or powders that are way over dried and lack much of anything :)

7 Pot Yellow sounds like its worth a try. Chileplants sells them as plants and seeds. I don't really use much in the way of super hots so i had no idea what to try. Those Fatali do sound interesting too but i dont really need more than one super hot plant. I can barely handle making hab sauce. Next year i may have to move to cooking it outside in a crock pot. 2 hour long sneezing fits are just too much for me to handle.

My lemon drop sauce has been a huge hit with friends but for me it just needs a tiny bit more zip.:D

Next year im dropping the orange habs and replacing with yellow MOA Scotch Bonnets. Not for heating up my lemon drop sauce. I just want to try something different in my hot curries and making a Scotch Bonnet sauce.

My Fatalii have tons of C. flavor....I dried about 50 of them and then powdered them...it did not seem to effect the C flavor at all, still bold as ever.

Never had a scotch bonnet yet....will fix that this yr.
