Stabilizing the CPR

The second seed germinated. Must have been at least a month or more later:

This is a great example of "How long does pepper seed germination take?"!! One never knows how long Mother Nature thinks the seed should take!

Truth.

I started the seeds February 7, the one germinated February 24.

I do not know when the second germinated, but judging the size, it must have been early to mid-April.

That's a prime candidate for cloning. Just a clip below soil surface and into the cloner. Two weeks later, 2 plants instead of one and and anchor.

What the heck, it probably would not survive in the shade of the larger plant.

I had some Hyponex rooting hormone and some RootRiot plugs, so...

Fingers crossed.

There is a commercial product called Prine.  The folk who developed it did so after it was discovered there is a natural germination retardant in many plants.  No clue if peppers have it.  It is an evolutionary protection against drought.  If one year is dry, some of the seeds wont even try to germinate until next year when it has a better chance of survival.  Mother Nature is indeed amazing.

Moruga Welder's CPR got a main stalk split in the greenhouse disaster but I was able to keep it going with elastics...no clue how long it will hold, especially when the pods are pumping out, but it has grown big-time since the repair so we'll see how it goes!

My CPR are all doing well also. I'll post some pics tonight. They are about 6 inches or so tall now. And also, now that I got my plants back on the right track they are really growing again

Here's my 2 main CPR from in the grow tent, both about 7 inches tall now

Thanks! They are looking much better now that I started to feed them. They were pretty yellow for a while. I was afraid to burn them with too much ferts.
