Vote for the best use of cocoa or chocolate in a savory dish!

NEW - Experimenting with all polls ending on Sunday at a determined time so weekend-only voters get a chance to vote. So yes each poll will be a slightly different length but instead of them being 48 hours during the week, the weekend visitors get to see.

This one ends Sunday 8pm ET!

My Top 3 is Hybid, Geeme, SF.

I like SAUCY food and with cocoa, I KNOW it works with chili and the gumbo nailed that comparison. Also those "cocoa puffs" looked dope and reminded me of when the food ninja graced us with his General Tsos. I'm all about Hybrid on this one! I know it works and looks killer.

SnF crushed it. Great job using chocolate several different ways with success. That sauce you made for the tarte sounds just ridiculous!
Good seasonal choice, too. That's a whole bunch of exactly what I want to eat when I come inside from shoveling or climbing or ice fishing.
hot stuff's pierogis, salsalady's carbonara and geeme's upscale southern meal get high marks too. Great job all!  That was a weird, fun, weird throwdown!

     Thank you!

You could have even added more cocoa, but I like the idea in general and think it works!

I agree completely. I played it conservatively the first time around. The next time I make it, I'll double it at least.

And ( I don't know how I didn't think of this at the time... :banghead: ) I will also make a pan of chocolate Malt -o- Meal bread. Just substitute the cereal for cornmeal in a recipe, add a bit of sugar and fry it in bacon fat in cast iron.
That would've been the prefect side dish for this.

Great stuff all around.

Somehow, going into Monday when it's not a holiday just seems off to me. .02

I'd agree with you HS as most of the TDs I've entered before have only been through Sunday prior to the last couple ones.  IIRC it was expanded to Monday in order to allow weekend clock punchers a bit more time to come through.  Seeing the larger turnouts and working weekends myself the extra day has been a real boon.  Stuff that I could not have entered before is now a possibility, and I worked Sat/Sun 12hr shifts last weekend so most of my stuff was made Sun late night into Monday morning/evening before service.  The extra day is the reason I was able to participate in this TD.  :)

I may need till Sunday night to decide. I may need till Monday. What do you guys do when you simply cannot decide? Throw a dart? Eeny meeny miny?
