I've worked out a quick and easy way to refresh the nutrient solution in stand-alone DWC systems. It's a two bucket setup, with the internal one having holes. To fresh nutrients just lift that one out, and place it into a new bucket containing fresh solution. I've been changing mine out every two weeks, and the plant looks much better. I realized though, that I need to add a gallon on the weeks between changes because the rate of consumption has gone up quite a bit. It appeared that the inside bucket had just run dry, but I got to it soon enough before any damage was done. From now on I'll add solution between changes, and even more often if needed. The internal bucket I'm using here is actually the mega net pot I made for the 45 gallon Kratky system I ran last year.
