Hey Trident,

Being the SB guru, where do you get your seeds from? I really want to find some legit looking bonnets.

My father in law grew up in the Bahamas and hasn't had a real SB since he was a kid. Would be great to grow one for him next season :)

I have a MOA from one of the guys on the forum but the first fruit came up not with the 'bell' shape.

Any advice of a good supplier would be soo awesome.

Cheers,
Damien

Awesome looking plants there!! I am loving the list of varieties as well ... Seems to be a lot of 'themed' lists this year as some of the established growers find the chilli niche they enjoy most. I like it! Best of continued luck!!
I caught the bonnet bug and to be honest haven't looked back ... however I could not have done it without the support of the forum members here who I look to each season to help me continue my challenge... I will this season list all SB and their hybrids as I have been working on a data base for a while

Thanks for looking in

Damien a guru is a bit strong... A bonnet enthusiast I am ... Seed comes from all over the world however a lot comes from the generosity of forum members here. Two very good sites for you would be Junglerain and Hippyseedcompany both are local to you

I have a true red Bahamas Bonnet ... I will look out some seed for you for your father however it is not the true bonnet shape. Most Bonnets are irregular wrinkled pods but it is their distinctive hot fresh and fruity flavour which makes them one of the most versatile of chillies. Have a look at the bonnets on those sites and my grow log ... PM your address and I will hopefully make your Father's Day next season

Be happy with the pod in your picture ... let it mature and enjoy!

Thank you so much for the advice, will take on board.

I have eaten some bonnets a few times in my life and I'm hooked :)
I will PM you my address now, if you were able to find some seeds that would be amazing. It is the 2nd day of Autumn/Fall here is Australia, so no rush. There's 6 months until I can start my new grow

Good luck with your season, looking forward to watching where it goes.

Time for an update starting with a few from the nursery .....

Obeah

MoA Yellow - hopefully the one on the left is destined for the Promotions - MoA Challenge

ScotchBrain and the long version (FreeportBum)

Puerto Rican Purple Sploched (Christopher Phillips)

Heavy rain this week but the evenings are getting lighter and the temperatures are slowly starting to rise. Need a new cover for the polytunnel thanks to storm "Doris" ... thanks for looking in

Looking good John! I wouldn't worry too much about the MoA Bonnets that still look short. Mine have always looked that way until transplanted outside. They lengthen a bit between the nodes then, but are still the shortest and bushiest of my Chinense varieties. They have the thickest leaf canopy too and the pods like to hide underneath. Cheers!

Plants are looking superb John as we all come to expect from you now lol, glad to see your Daisy Cutter and Boc x Orange primo in top condition , stunning pair of seedlings .

That moa is a gem and going to be a real contender in the competition grow. Your well on the way to a great season and im watching with growing inspiration my friend. Great work ;)

Wow, you're only 3 weeks ahead of me I think, but you're plants are 3 or 4 times the size of mine. I don't think my plants liked that starter mix I used this year.
