Flavours of the Caribbean (Mainly)

Thought it was about time I put on blog on here as requested by a good friend Gary (wind chicken).
I got to know Gary having done a seed trade over 2 years ago via fb, and have always admired his growing.
As title says most of my grow will be bonnets as I love Caribbean cuisine especially Jerk chicken, curry goat etc.

I started some rocotos quite early as I know they take forever to ripen..

First time I've ever grown rocoto and pleased with progress so far.

Will make a proper grow list when I receive the p.dreadie select seeds kindly sent by Gary and one I'm pleased to have as a memory to Erin.

Another one already up and waiting to be potted on is Carrot Jolokia which I was kindly sent by Ben (bpiela), took ages to sprout a hook, but got one in the end.

Just waiting on a few stubborn bonnets to show hooks before finalizing what's a keeper.

Where did those Shabu seeds come from?  Floricole accidentally shipped about a bunch of "fake" Shabu seeds last year by accident.  He made up for it and reshipped with real seeds.  Maybe these "Shabu" seeds came from that bad batch??  If they are the annuums, they are going to be a hatch style of pepper.  Still Great!

Just one of my P. Dreadie select seedlings, showing the usual big foliage.
All 6 of my seedlings will go to my uncles heated greenhouse and grown in isolation.

One of my special peppers this year and looking forward go the pods Hainan Yellow Lantern.
Seeds we're hard to source so I'm lucky to be growing.

Love the foliage colour very similar to Pauls and Trippas pdn x bmj.

Few pics from round the yard, beds are all Ramial chipped wood and we're out down 3 seasons ago, we just top up with about a inch of fresh stuff every year and let it do it's thing.
