Chuck Norris morugas

The pepper is really good. It was extra hot and it had a good taste. I got a couple of pods in a trade with seeds and we tried it at hot pepper night. We tried the Genghis Khan, and a few others, but this one stuck out as superior. I was at hot pepper night when I wrote this. I have a few seeds but someone there was trying to find them and couldn't find them anywhere.

The Apocalypse Scorpion (officially "Trinidad Scorpion Moruga Strain Apocalypse Blend") is a wholely unique looking chilli so the new name makes sense. I don't see that with ol' Chuck here.

You could shoot them an email asking about the history of this chilli. THSC generally respond in a few days and are very friendly and have always responded to my enquiries with detail and seem happy to do so. Personally I don't think these guys re name chillies just for the sake of it and I'm certain they grow things for a few seasons before release.

Is it a hybrid or just a hot mourga scorpion?

Just a nice pheno.

The other year, bought some morugas of a few different people to see how they went, found this pheno amongst them. Smaller pods, gnarlier/ pimply solid skinned [...]

The chilli plant gets to about a metre tall in a pot, but would grow bigger if you plant it in the ground. It is a bushy type of plant and it looks amazing when its in full on mode. a great producer, they get full of nearly golf balled sized pods that have thinnish but firm pimply skin and go from green to a bright deep red when they are ripe, smaller and more boxy shaped than the normal Moruga.

We named if after Chuck Norris, because when you eat it, reckon it would be like being round house kicked in the face by Chuck Norris.

Tom, I sent you a few pods of the Chuck Norris Moruga at the end of last season in a box of pods and seeds. I purchased the seeds from the Hippy Seed Company. Personally I think this is a hybrid. Every pod on the plant was different in shape and size, no consistency what so ever. Compared to my TSMs, there are some significant differences other than shape and size that makes me think this is a hybrid. The aroma is not the same as the standard TSM, but more importantly how this thing hits is much different. The Chuck Norris Moruga hits hard and fast, whereas the TSMs I have grown the past 4 years have a delayed hit that gradually builds up to a very high level. CNMs are quite hot, maybe more so than the standard TSM, but how they hit and taste leads me to believe they are likely a cross with something. To me they are more similar to a brain strain than a moruga scorpion.

Yea, the guy looking for seeds was there to taste what you sent. I just didn't have any seeds for him. They are already planted. I think it was the best of that box. A real winner, but it looks like we should have compared them to see if they were different. Way better than the Apocalypse Scorpion. I grew them last year and was disappointed. Tom
