Eggplant in containers

I've never solved the flea beetle problem with my eggplant. My soil is good - everything grows well - I have a good amount of beneficial predators around, etc, but I've resorted to growing eggplant in pots. I've had good success. Last year I did Astrakom (good producer), Diamond (also good), and New York Improved (many fewer fruits than in-ground).

I'm trying Ping Tung Long and Rosita as well this year in containers. I'm looking for good production and I think I can achieve that, but if anyone has helpful hints for eggplants in pots, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

Ive grown them with no problem, besides the weather, maybe try sprinkling diatomaceous earth. People have mixed it into the soil to deal with fly problems.

Huh, I never thought of mixing DE into the soil itself. I will give that a try. Thanks!

I should say I intend to grow a couple in ground again using different preventatives, whether it's regular dusting with DE, putting plastic over the bed, etc.

My wife is counting on me! :)

The diatomaceous earth saved my plants with the Flea Beetles that attacked my Tomato plants last month, how did it do for you ?
