What is a large pod?

In weight, what would you consider to be a large pod? The biggest I have managed is 14grams (1/2 ounce) but I would like a general consensus on what is a good size.

Cheers

Depends a lot on breed, but if it fills the palm of my hand its got good size. I've seen some people on THP put out some HUGE peppers. Mike Hess grows big. Can't remember any other names right now. Keep an eye on the glogs.

Are you refering to strictly superhots or other as well?

Sorry I should have clarified I mean chinense's, not necessarily just superhots but Habs, 7pots, Scotch Bonnets etc

Wow, hogleg! Apple sized! I had a scotch bonnet brown weigh in at a little over 29 grams a couple years ago. The heaviest Chinense that comes to my mind is the Venezuelan Tiger. Fiogga had one that weighed like 55 grams that same year.

I was going to suggest Manzanos are quite heavy so weight is not a good determining factor.

I had aleppos and big jims top 100 grams last year.  Heaviest chinense probably were my baha goats which got to 20-25 grams.

So, for chinense's around 15-20 grams is a good size to try and achieve. Anything bigger than that is quite large.. reason I'm asking is because I only have limited space to grow and large pods = more sauce. I had decent production this year and pods around 10-14 grams so looks like there is room for improvement.

Any tips on getting big (and lots of) fruit?

Btw I have an orange Manzano that should be producing flowers soon and can't wait!
