Red Roccoto pollination

I have only one plant of the C. pubescens species growing this year. I know it won't cross pollinate with other species but can it self pollinate? I was told it needs a fellow plant to make any fruit.

I had a red that produced without another to cross pollinate.

It will self pollinate, but will produce much better with a fellow Pubescens next to it. It will cross pollinate like crazy with other Pubescens though, so if you are trying to keep your seeds pure, make sure to not count on any pure offspring from those seeds.

Im pretty sure pubes only cross with pubes. Peppers can self pollinate though so you should be fine. 
There's lots of ways to isolate seed, the easiest is to just glue a flower shut before it opens with some elmer's glue. Just make sure you mark it so you remember which pod it is lol!

Great info, thanks, at least I know I'll get a purebred from any seeds I get.
