Trippaul Threat (PdN x BMJ) Community Grow

This is what I wanted to post.

The total harvest was about a quart and one-half (1.42 liters dry volume)
of dried pods.

The powder is slightly lighter than the lighting shows in this image:

Total powder weight is 105 grams (3.7 ounce) from three plants; the last is
still in final stages of ripening; will be a slow process from now on.

That powder is looking funky! If you didn't know what it was, you could be in for a big mistake haha!

Paul, I was wondering what the idea behind the cross is. There seems to be a goal you and Tristan are working towards, what is it?

Tristens goal was to produce a purple-foliage
plant like a Pimente de Neyde, with yellow pods
like a Bonda Ma Jacques. Being at the F6 stage
the next round could provide some more variation
in a larger grow. This years F5 have produced some
Bigger, beefier pods than in past seasons. Maybe thats
the Bonda heritage kicking in. Im looking forward to
See what happens in the global grow...

The latest purple/white pods from last Sunday. There
are a dozen or more Im leaving on the plant to ripen
as much as possible. Mildish weather upcoming may
be favorable for that!

The last two pods on the F5-1 are hanging on; still nice
and firm with great color:

Getting so very close; some awesome phenotypes left
to ripen up:

Pulled the last of the pods on the F2 due to splitting
caused by recent heavy rain. Also these last
two pods on the F1:

One of the F5 in a 3 gallon pot really put out some
healthy new growth at the end of the summer, so I
decided to give it a shot at wintering over. Trimmed
off several superflouous branches and put it under
a T5 HO lamp:

I'm going to try a few cuttings this winter as a trial.

I have finally finished gathering the seed from the F5.

I'm just letting the F5 do it's thing in the garage. Decent warmth
and 6 hours of light a day should mimic the dormant season in
places this might grow perennially, I hope :think:

It had just started
growing out like gangbusters at the end of the season, so I just
couldn't resist the experiment

I'd do some volunteer work, but I'm up to my ears processing the ridiculous spectrum of grow data from this last season to know what and how to grow next year.

Okay, seeds going in the mail tomorrow. Devv and Stickman
have signed on to the F6 grow, for a total of 9 growers not
counting Trippa and myself. Should be great fun and interesting!

Thanks everyone for following along this season. I will continue
this thread into the 2018 grow and hope everyone who participates
will add to the thread to document the progress of Tristen's beautiful
PDN Bonda cross as it nears the F7 stage.

I still have some more seed if anyone else is interested in growing
the F6.

Very excited about this Paul and Trippa! So cool to be a part of such a big community grow. I'll ask my parents if I can use a bit of space in their garden for a few of these beauties, they'll be isolated there. I'll have a few at my house too.

Are you going to make a check-list for specific traits you want us to look out for?

I think that is for Tristen to answer - I believe the original
thought was yellow pods, like the F2 generation, but after
that, they went to more of an ivory/white.

It will be interesting to see if any yellow pods show up again.
Also whether the pods continue to grow larger. The F6 pods
were the largest overall in the whole series.

It will also be interesting to see how they grow in different
zones/climates.

I was sorting seeds the other day, and discovered one F1
seed from 5 years ago in the box :rofl:

Related to last post: Have discovered some vintage F3
seed in my box, from 2015, I had forgotten about! :party:

I'm almost tempted to start the line over with the F1
seed. Maybe we'd be lucky and the yellow pods would
come out in the F2, and Tristen would have something
to play with :rofl:

!

At the same time during the seed sorting/selecting
process I discovered that I also have some BJ hybrid
seed I'm almost 100% sure is a cross with the F3! If I
grow BJ again I think it will be that one. A couple of
variations in color, dusky red and burnt orange. Very
hot, aromatic when cut. Classic long, bumpy, tapered,
slightly curved pods. Purple foliage, although a green
variant sprouted as well. Unfortunately I didn't grow
one out for seed :oops:

Since PhotoBucket went postal, and I can't edit the original pages
where the pics reside to replace them, I decided to delve into my files
and re-post the pilfered (just kidding) images. I'm reposting the earlier
entries from this thread so at least they are a part of the record.

Here's the first:

In January of 2014, Tristen (Trippa) sent me a little care package of seeds.
In the package were two generations of a cross he had made, which he just
called 'Mystery Cross, F1' and 'Mystery Cross, F2'.

Up close look at Trippa's Mystery Crosses, F1 and F2. Both culled to a single
plant after the photo taken, so I only had one plant of each generation:
