Nice looking pods...my plants have recovered but only tiny fingernail size pods on a couple whites.

Rebloom has begun...hoping this next 97+ temps don't yet again mess them up.

A couple of nice, light yellow pods on the F4-2:

Gnarly-ish pod going through a light green phase on F4-2:

All of these pods have set, grown, and started changing
color since going outside towards end of June. The hot
weather seems to spur them on:

I have counted the pods I can find in this picture, and get a different
number every time !

My plants havent missed a beat during this spell of 90+,
sunny days, so there is hope, my friend. I think in general,
it is a sun lover, especially if it has a chance to harden off.

Keep them going, those small pods will yield to bigger ones!

Thank you, Paul! I'm going to try to isolate the Purple again, so I should have isolated seeds for both next season, if anybody will need any later. Pod review??? Uuummm, proooobably not. I still feel weird about having the one review up there. ‍

With some help from Sawyer, I'm hoping I can join the fun growing out the PDN x BMJ cross.

Sawyer had a few extra PDN x BMJ seedlings all the way back in April, and graciously offered them out to the THP community.

But since then, these seedlings seem to have been jinxed. First, an unexpected thunderstorm banged them up. Then they had some mystery problems that left them not healthy enough to ship. Before we knew it, we'd slipped into early July, a potentially tricky time to ship seedlings in a sealed box.

We decided to roll the dice, cross our fingers, and ship them in a SFRB. To reduce in-transit transpiration, Sawyer trimmed them up.

Lately, the Post Office has really improved at getting packages delivered in only a few days. But the Post Office decided to inexplicably struggle with delivering the seedlings. So instead of taking from Monday to Wednesday sealed in an SFRB, the Post Office didn't put it on my porch until Friday. That's nearly 5 full days sealed in a box in the July heat.

Luckily, the seedlings survived the extra long July shipment pretty well.

They're still slightly stressed out, and are struggling somewhat to adjust to my Gulf Coast weather.

With all these setbacks, they're not nearly as far along as they would normally be. Normally, I'll have until late November before I start to run into frosts, so we'll see how far they'll get before the season runs out. If necessary, my climate makes over-wintering relatively easy.

At any rate, it'll be fun to see if I can get some PDN x BMJ peppers out of these plants before my season runs out.

And many thanks to Sawyer for all his effort in getting me these seedlings.

I've got one in a 3 gallon conatiner.

And one's in a 5 gallon grow bag.

And thanks for the offer on the seeds. I'm not sure it's know if the seedlings I have are the purple variety or the white variety, but it would be great to check both of them out.

‍ the pleasure has been mine, Mitch. I felt honored that
Tristen asked me to help him keep it going, and that he
trusted me to care for his baby. Now that it is a global grow,
the cross wil get a really good test.

And thanks for the offer on the seeds. I'm not sure it's know if the seedlings I have are the purple variety or the white variety, but it would be great to check both of them out.

I am not sure how much different the two are. The purple
pods were slower developing and ripening in my climate.
It would be cool to see someone with a really long grow
season grow out a purple for as long as it takes, if ever.

I would be happy to include a few of 2017 F5 purple for you.

The plants are podding up nicely. This is a nice picture

This is my neighbors front yard chili grow. The tall, dark
plants? Yup, F4 and F6

We are still in the midst of a string of days in the high 90s and
even a triple digit day or two in our back yard. 112F in the sun
today.

Woah, Dan, some great looking nasties there!
Should see some color change soon!

Sounds like your purples are lagging behind the whites
just as mine did last season. My purple plant has only a
handful of pods, but they are nice ones. Will try for
some pics with a ruler today to show the size of the pods.

I need to post pics, I have 2 growing still in containers. A white and a purple, both which survived my absence while on vacation. They won't set again for another 6 weeks or so. In catching up. Paul I only ate the really white ripe pods, just as they wanted to soften up.

Haha that's the same ones I got from him around the same time as well! Mine are living good and they got me into the "pdn club" as well, just took some loving and coaxing although slightly late to the game, these girls will definitely get overwintered if I don't get me a slew of pods!

Just an update on the growth of the plants. Since going into
their large containers they have put on a substantial amount
of new growth, and the new branches that sprouted from the
stalks have started emerging through the canopies. The first
round of real pods have begun to ripen on some of the plants,
and another round of flowering has started on some others.

The pods are averaging about 2 inches in length across
all the plants. Here is a sample from each plant.

Pods continuing to bulk up. Had to tie up some more of the longer branches
that were drooping from the weight of the pods. Continued hot, sunny weather
