Trippaul Threat (PdN x BMJ) Community Grow

This is a dedicated grow log for Tristen's awesome cross, which I
have been growing out since 2014.  I'll start with a bit of history and
some photos documenting what's happened so far.
 
In January of 2014, Tristen (Trippa) sent me a little care package of seeds.
In the package were two generations of a cross he had made, which he just 
called 'Mystery Cross, F1' and 'Mystery Cross, F2'.  
 
Here's Trippa's Mystery Cross seedlings in February of 2014:

Both generations showing the purple foliage characteristic since the beginning.
 
Up close look at Trippa's Mystery Crosses, F1 and F2.  Both culled to a single
plant after the photo taken, so I only had one plant of each generation:

A friend gave me one of those teeter hangup things, and my wife hasn't been to the chiropractor since. It doesnt work on the shoulder though. I don't want to get addicted to the chiropractor lol. I think it will sort itself out

stand out!  Good Work!
 
This run of summer-like days is still going strong. Looks like a few
more of them to come, as well, so maybe a couple of more of rounds
of pods to be had. In the meantime, the F6 plants are enjoying the nice days:

Picked off a few pods from a couple of the F6 today.

Normally, I would not show every small harvest, but for the sake of
documenting the F6 generation for Tristen, I will do so, and so folks
getting seeds know what they are getting. Thanks for being patient.

The F6W-LP keeps ripening up a handful at a time.

Not the most prolific producer, but there are always some nice, big pods
in the mix from this plant:

The pointed pods all 2-1/2 inches x ~1inch, and the lantern-shaped
pod 1-3/8 inches x 1-1/8 inches.

Not much being harvested because of it.

Lots of pods like everyone else even after almost killing them at plant out.

I'm right there with ya. Doc says it's my neck; I say old, often, reoccurring scapula injury pulling on my neck. The main reason I've been slacking on the THP

Not a big harvest but happy just the same since I tried my best killing them in June over ferting.

Only one white fully had ripe pods. All others varying degrees of ripening.

Hate to hear that, buddy. As we mature, I notice that the old
insults come back to haunt us. I have sore muscles in places I
didnt even know existed!

Our string of beautiful 70-degree weather has finally come to
an end. Still decent, but it is hard to beat that October summer!
Still lots of pods left on the plants; I am hoping that there will be
more ripe pods to be had since we are forecast for nights in the
40-degree range without a huge amount of rain

Latest pull. F6W1, 160 grams; F6P, 180 grams; F6WLP, 456 grams;
F4-1, 201 grams; F4-2, 145 grams; F4-3, 142 grams:

There are a couple in the bags, but I think this is it for seed pods. Almost
all the remaining pods on the plants are around the 2-inch mark.

Managed to dry a few quarts of pods:

Now that we are in the F7 generation, time to start thinking of a name.
The emergence of the purple ripe pods makes White Lightening not
a totally appropriate name. So, have given a little thought to that just
to get them conversation started.

To honor the cross, maybe something like

Bonda Pimenta, or
Pimenta de Bonda?

As for the colors, we might have something like

Bonda Pimenta var. White Lightening
Bonda Pimenta var. Purpletrator.

Okay, that last is just to get the ball rolling.

I didn't get my PDN x BMJ seedlings into containers until mid-July, when they immediately ran into the hottest part of my summer.
 
Given that, they seem like they're in pretty good shape, and I should have several weeks left in my season.
 
I have one in a three gallon pot, and one in a five gallon grow bag.  This was my first time trying grow bags.
 
The one in the pot has looked much happier.  The one in the grow bag immediately had trouble standing up straight (I should have staked it), and seems like it is nearly always wilting.  The one in the pot grew straight on its own, and hardly ever wilted after it had been in the pot for a few weeks.
 
Despite the fact that the one in the pot nearly always looks healthier, the yield from the one in the grow bag has been much bigger.
 
I have about two pods on the one in the pot (not outrageous for starting mid-July).  But the one in the grow bag has 8-10 pods despite always looking worse.
 
My other plants in grow bags seem to be showing similar results.  They often look like they're in horrible shape, but they're throwing off more peppers than the happier plants in pots.

Hey, Sim. Don't know if you've seen this year's pods or not, but there are two definite strains emerging.  
One has white pods, and the other violet. Next year's F7 grow should be interesting.

Right, Bookers.  Next year will be the F7.
 
I grew out some F3 seed this season, so will also
have F4 in the grow next season.
 
Seeds will be available at no charge to anyone who wants them
and is willing to post a few updates throughout the season to this
thread, so as to inform us about the consistency. Seems to have
been growing pretty true since the F3/4 generation.
