I wanted to try some Lumbre and he not only sent me some seeds, he also sent some Sandia Select seeds too. Never tried either of these but they sound great!!!!
My only Sandia Select that survived is growing very fast now. It got a late start but will try them again next year. Cant believe how fast the pods grow too.
Heat was pretty similar to many of the better jalapenos, even hotter than some. Way hotter than a NuMex 6-4 which has almost no heat to me. Ive only sampled a couple so far. I need to roast a few and make a verde sauce.
First sun dried Lumbre will be ready today and they smell KILLER!!!...BTW wash your hands before taking a leak if you touch even a dried one. I didn't and suffered lastnite
Bunch more ripe too. VERY productive variety!!
My Sandia Select pods are huge!!! Plant is only around 2ft tall with just 5 peppers but they are whoppers. Probably grow way more of these next year. Much meater than the Lumbre.
It would be a pretty zippy red sauce....These guys got some UMPH to them for Anaheims. Need to mix them with something milder if the dish is gunna be heavier on the sauce.
