seeds Damping off in large seedlings?

Anyone experience damping off in large seedlings?

I've got plants 6-12" tall that are just going limp or tipping over.  One severed at the soil level and it looked like the stem had that translucent brown color I'm used to seeing in sprouts.

I guessing as my plants got larger and started to close in around each other, the lack of airflow under the canopy is the cause.

I had a round of this earlier and thought the temp was getting too high in my grow space, so I opened the door (unheated basement) and all the plants that were effected recovered.  Now I'm thinking it was just the fresh air circulation not the reduced temps that helped the plants.

Adding another fan now, but just curious if anyone else has had this happen.

Could be a bunch of different things. How much distance do you have between the plants and your light? whats the temp levels at? do you top or bottom feed? They could just be getting too leggy and tipping, in which case, I would add a little support, lower your light if possible or transplant them and bury the stems quite a bit. Pics would help a bit too. Good luck

I just had a good sized aji amarillo succumb to what i think is damping off. (i've not experienced it before).
I saw some nice white baby roots trying their best to get into the soil around the sick taproot so i quickly defoliated most of the stem to stop excessive transpiration and I buried the stem in a wet grit medium to see if I can coax the roots to grow.

things looked pretty bad for about 24 hours, but has since perked up. Probably be a set back for the season but I'm playing the long game for next year anyways.

best of luck with yours

Could also be pest related -- ie. cut worms will wrap around the seedling and lop it off right around soil level !

Had my 2 sugar rush peach plants succumb a couple weeks ago. Same container and both were roughly 12" tall.
