Over run with Ajis for 2017

I think its too early to give a fair review on taste since its been so cool at night and so wet although this plant looks better than most of mine. It was sweeter than expected. Both the tip and stem end tasted virtually identical. The pepper was just a little larger than my thumb so it was still a little young. Pretty much just the typical jalapeno flavor but hotter than most store bought duds.

My first super hot is probably doing better than any of the other CCN plants. At least in terms of health and pod production.

7 Pot Yellow from Chile Plants. This little guy is starting to really take off.

The Scotch Bonnet Yellow MOA is still struggling a bit. Its in the same potting mix and same nutrients as the 7 Pot so im at a loss to understand why. Maybe when it gets warmer it will perk up.

Both the Beni Highlands are doing ok in a more shaded spot on the lower patio. Could look nicer imo but not bad considering the weather.

One of my Rau Ram aka Laksa leaf plants. What a great little herb to grow

Rau ram!! Love that stuff. It's like cilantro but better. Grows like a weed, doesn't bolt, and that delicious smell!!

Very very easy to clone too. I now have 7 plants. They start to root in just 4 days in plain water.

So much for being a late season pepper. My 7 Pot Yellow has been one of the best in pod production yet. My Beni Highland still has no pods and it supposed to be a early hab variety.

Aji Citos

MOA Yellow a few days after some kelp extract

Beni Highlands loved it too

No pods yet but the CCN lemon drop is starting to rock. Hard to believe the cito has many pods already.

I really love this CCN 7 Pot yellow. Its a beast

Bonnie Cajun Belle. I tasted on the other day and its not quite what i expected. Tastes nothing like a bell to me but it was jalapeno-ish hot.

Love this Bonnie Mucho Nacho.

The Early Jalapenos are a little behind but looking good.

Jalapeno Chichimeca just started getting a couple pods and blooms. The plant is taller and in the ground too so im hoping for a high yield

I like the Tidy cat buckets but not for coco. Its too hard to get them to dry out after a rain and i used 3 parts to 1 part perlite. I repotted my MOA that was in mostly coco into a bag and its already looking better.

First EVER almost ripe Aji Cito. This is almost a month earlier than i got a fresh lemon drop last year IIRC. It was about a 1/4 yellow yesterday. I love the way these ripen.

Someone said their Beni Highlands were not very hot. Well they are not Hab hot thats for sure but mine is way hotter than any jalapeno ive eaten. Probably similar to a upper end lemon drop or a tad more. I tried a green one just to see since it looks like im gunna have a bunch. Hab flavor is really mild when green.

Put the last 2 smaller lemon drops from seed in the ground plot.

NuMex64s sure grow fast once it starts

I still dont know what im going to do with all these 7 Pots.

7 Pot yellow is turning and the Aji Cito is almost completely ripe now. Might be ready by the end of the day but im going to leave it till tomorrow. Ive been dying to taste one ripe. Ajis are pretty blah to me when green. Green they make a tasty vinegar but thats about it.

First ripe AJi Cito and 7 Pot Yellow. The cito was mighty tasty too. VERY sweet and noticeably hotter than a lemon drop. Less citrus flavor though,

Both gochus are rocken. Hard to see all of them but its a lot.

NuMex 64 has some really nice fatties on it now. Almost picked the 3 largest today. Maybe tomorrow.

Jalapeno Chichimeca is just loaded with pods...trying to let them ripen since i got PLENTY of other jalas

Im so proud...My first ripe gochu...Both plants are covered in pods too.

My shy Thai giant orange isnt shy anymore. TON of flowers and a few pods too.

Would someone please tell this Beni its a earlier producer!!!!! Its had green pods for about a month or more.

Well after checking the plants in the sweltering 100F heat today i had a surprise. I have a almost ripe bright yellow Beni Highlands!!! Another looked like it is starting to turn also.

The other day i picked 3 tiny Cajun Belles that were getting close but more chocolate in color than red. I set these 3 on the window sill. A couple days later they are bright cherry red. Talk about sweet. The one i tasted was like someone put sugar on it. The heat is at the lower end of a reasonably good jalapeno but you know its spicy.

Delicious!!!
