pests accidental aphid control technique

please forgive me , i am new here and also a new chilli grower. This may be a well known solution.

Iv been using the sticky tape way to control the aphids on my chillies , it works really well, but you are always going to miss one. But tonight i was hit by some inspiration. The Story..... We have a naughty cat, this cat will wee and spray all over the house....really annoying and really smelly. We found it really difficult to trace effected area, until a friend told me to use black light. So i bought on ebay a small led type black light torch for a few coin and set about finding in the dark where the bugger had been. Worked well, wee shone up and area cleaned.   Think you can guess what i did today, and yes , aphids show up beautifully !!!!    so easy to find , problem sorted!!!!   here is a pic, although photo does not do it justice.!!

Im going to have so much fun hunting them now lol.  Hope this helps people and sorry if this method is well known already.

Very cool

I had one plant in particular getting rocked by them this year, got pissed while cutting the grass one day and just full throttled the leaf blower at the pepper plant... took a few hours for the plant to pick itself back up but damn if it wasn't effective. Blew those mother f'rs away  :flamethrower:

$ is not an issue in the long run.
I haven't spent a cent on anything in years to fight aphids.

They, the wasps, come back every year as far as I can tell.
I've only seen a couple aphid Mummies for years.
Indoors or outside.

They are supposed to smell Aphids a half mile away...

I call it a great investment. :)

Pepper cultivation can become an expensive endever/addiction. Because of this, cost is always an issue.
However, aphids are no longer an issue here as I have a remedy that has kept me aphid free for the last two years.

oh,please tell!?

Aphid free with azamax. Speaking of which I need to spray tomorrow night. Darn worms chewing all my leaves up.

As CAPCOM said-how much do you spend on seeds, ferts or soil, not to mention work involved?
Wasps , at least for me have worked for years, without fail.
I refuse to use poisons on my plants.
You do live in the UK though,I have no idea what they might cost you...

Only worms I get are from Lettuce moths.
White moths that lay inch worm eggs.

I use BT,but it is getting less effective-higher doses are needed,I think they are getting immune...
Monsanto is doing GMO.s that make BT.
Bugs are getting immune I think,I don't think they profuce enough to kill the worms so they get immune.

I would as well if they were not so damn expensive.
how much are the wasps?
**edit**
I found some for sale... seems to vary quite a bit based on species.... still, not too bad.  I guess the move is to buy 3 species, so you're covered regardless of which aphids show up?

I had some aphid issues a few weeks ago got some lady bugs from amazon problem solved and the kids love the lady bugs [emoji221][emoji221][emoji41]
