t8 light build.

Hey everyone. So i have found some 4 lamp T8 fixtures for $7 each, from a commercial tear down.
I'm hoping to build 2 sets of lights by tearing apart the 4 lamp fixtures and creating my own 6 or 8 lamp lights.
(with the ability to turn off half the lamps with a switch. would this even be useful?)

I've got a friend to help me with the electrical and ballasts because I have no clue.
But would building a DIY Reflector be beneficial?
How would I got about doing that.

Thanks

Can you add a picture?

My t8's are running without reflectors just fine.
I'm using four 4ft fluoro's

Make sure you use cool daylight 6500k,the higher the wattage the more lumens

32watt 3250 lumens
58watt 4800 lumens(generally speaking)

Make sure  to use correct wattage with the fixture.

I don't have any pics yet cuz i haven't bought them yet. Just doing thought experiments.

is 4 t8 lamps enough for good growth? I run 6 T12's right now in a 2x4ft space.
These T8 lamps would be 32 watt i believe.

Yes, you need to match the lamps to the ballast.

58 Watt (60 inch) T8 lamps require a different ballast than the 'standard' 32 Watt (48 inch) lamps.

Same setup as me 32w in a 4ftx2ft growspace, with 12 inch height when they just start out,the adjust height as it grows. t8 is better than t12,so go for it.

This only a seedling setup i only grow under lights for 4-6 weeks then tbey go outside.
