Samyang Foods Buldak Bokkeummyeon

Hi folks, I just came across some of these fried ramen noodle packages and thought I'd give them a whirl to see how hot they really are.

Following the instructions on the label, I boiled the noodles for 3 minutes in 300ml of water and drained most of the water, but kept enough of the starchy liquid to make the sauce with the contents of the red packet inside. Stir-fried the noodles and sauce for about 15 seconds and the results looked like this.

Stirred in the contents of the black packet and some sauteed veggies and it make a pretty good meal. Add a fried egg on top and you've got a cheap and complete meal for a little over a buck.

Heat-wise, this is the hottest Ramen noodle dish I've ever had straight out of the package. It's well within the tolerances of most chili-heads, but it definitely made me break out into a sweat and brought the blood to my face in a rush. The flavor was okay, but could use a little something... next time I make it I'll add some minced garlic, minced fresh ginger and a bit of toasted sesame oil.

Nice! I never worry about the heat of a dish anymore because we all have powders and sauces, and they are for using. ;) Some stuff tastes better when you buy the flavor you want, and you worry about the heat at home.

Ramenrater ranks those at #3 hottest ramen he has tried.

I know the Paldo Teumsae Ramyun is pretty hot and its ranked #4

eMart Dare You Habanero though has topped the charts for a few years.

Ive got some spicy river snail flavor ramen from China right i want to try but the cooking instructions are all in Chinese. These noodles got about 4 or 5 packets of stuff that go in it including 2 red ones that look hot. :D

Is this the spicy river snail ramen you have? If not, the directions are probably close enough. https://starrymart.co.uk/luobawang-liuzhou-river-snails-rice-noodle-265g.html

Nothing wrong with MSG you know it is natural and you probably had some today it's in mushrooms and tomatoes.

Wouldn't say nothing wrong with it. It's sodium, and high intakes of sodium is bad. The problem is there is usually other added preservatives included along with the msg which makes the total sodium alarmingly high.

Yes, fried tofu skin.

I added little nappa, kimchi and some leftover beef to it. The veggie packets contains stuff like pickled mustard, pickled beans and pickled bamboo shoots. Hard to say for sure....its all in Chinese :D
