Holy smokes what a cluster. They really make this mike smith guy come off as a real creep. Totally explains the awful pictures of terrible pods, and why he was saying such fallacies to the media.

If all this is true, I wish Chili Bob the best with his WR attempt.

Isn't it always?  I don't get it at all.  I just grow peppers and then say here, look what I grew.  Sell a few seeds on the side, but mainly just because I have to save them for my own farm.  Then I go online and read what is going on with other folk and it is so very fascinating.  Sorry to sound like a country bumpkin and not wishing this sort of stuff on my own farm, but damn pepper people can be entertaining.

Dragon's Breath has become more interesting than a murder mystery novel.

there is a post going around on facebook, it is very opinionated, not sure i believe it all. but here it is for your reading pleasure XD

So after all the hype and wild claims about the new world hottest chilli "Dragons Breath" from Chillibob's Bob and Neal Price.............Heres the truth!
As many of you will know since day one I have been following this closely on everyones behalf, and I trust that as a community globally we can share this post to create the waves we need to expose the lying greedy bastards for what they are, I know our brothers over the pond and beyond will get a hold of this from the big guns that were willing to support.
So I’ll keep this as short as I can as we all know the basics. I will include all screenshots for you all to have a rummage through from over the months I’ve been trying to get to the bottom of this. All of these statements can be referenced to the screenshots I Include.
Out of nowhere (not for me as I knew this was coming for a long time) a press release hits the world claiming to have a new worlds hottest chilli pepper, named the Dragons Breath and created by a flower grower, Mike Smith, who claimed to have developed it with the Nottingham Trent University (NTU) as part of a medical research programme.
Soon after this release, Bob and Neal Price (chillibobs) came forward to claim that this release was not true, and they were in fact the creators of the chilli and involved with the nano programme at NTU, and that Mike smith only looked after a few of their plants to over winter on their behalf, and he was going to display at "their" stand at the Chelsea flower show. They also commented that the original press picture of Mike Smith holding a Dragons Breath pod looked so pathetic as it was from an overwintered plant, and they proceeded to post a picture of the ‘true’ Dragons Breath.
Somewhere around this point the narcissist and compulsive liar Dean Finley (Proven in black and white multiple times) came forward to fuel his ego with a post claiming direct involvement with the NTU and chillibobs and advertised his involvement with the new world record.....until the truth started to emerge and then removed himself from such claims and assosciation.
So chillibobs took to the main stage and the questions began flooding in, most were palmed off with an attempt of bullshit baffles brains.....in many private conversations I’ve seen between chillibobs and other people the stories kept changing with regard to what the DNA was; what variety it generated from; where were the test results and what happened to all the Guinness recognition they kept harping on about.
There were no answers to these questions, instead they continued with a vague story and began selling plug plants to the community for £15 a go (£10 plus £5 postage)......many people purchased these on understanding this was a "new variety" of superhot with massive ratings of 2.4 million Scoville – In essence a new world record from a UK chilli grower!! It’s easy to understand how so many people were keen to get behind this new chilli, and with the promise of an impending new world record recognition people were prepared to pay the princely sum required to own it. Unfortunately, the record never transpired, and a cloud of concern started to loom.
As time went on it became apparent that the Dragons Breath were actually just plants grown from infinity chilli seeds from nick woods world record chilli back in the day - infinity 1.2 million chilli. When I questioned Neal about this he bumbled around and said they were crossed between stuff but didnt exactly know what.....not what he had said to other people, the story changed everytime.
I also asked him constantly about the results to which he claimed they had 7 plants tested with the 2.4 million SHU results, when asked to see the results he said they were still waiting for them but they needed more testing to make sure....WHY? a test is a test surely? He then went on to say only one pod had been tested and then went on to say Guiness were testing them directly. lol.....I mean this boy is very special!
Then there was a post from chillibob which I’ll include, stating the story so far, and introducing a competition to keep all the dubious customers who had just paid £15 for an infinty plant happy....for now......and they still continued to sell these plants to people unaware of what they were. The competition idea was to keep the heat off and give them enough time to make their money and then at the end of the year say " oh well sorry people must have just been a fluke"
I posted a few pressing questions to this post as did many many many other people to the point where they removed the post.
After this a few people who were requesting refunds got told that they had put a post up with an apology and offered everyone a refund but because of me had to remove it. The post contained No apology and No offer of refund, which I just so happened to screenshot before it got removed.....more lies!
I asked the question and produced the screenshot publicly and on their page to no response other than banning me from facebook contact.....maybe they were uncomfortable with my questions. So then I had to rely on the community as my eyes and ears to follow the bullshit story further on.
In another post more people asked to see the results to which Bob replied "I’ve been on holiday I will post something tomorrow", which when he does, he presents some rather unofficial looking SHU results via an email to which immedietly left me dubious. So I contacted a few experts and asked for their opinion on this, they all pretty much said the same thing....one of these experts is being Andrew Jukes from Warwick university, and as far as I know the only reputable SHU tester that Guinness accepts results from in the UK, although that may have changed now. Please take the time to read Andrew's opinion.
From then I contacted NTU directly who wouldn’t comment and basically palmed me off, until I questioned them with regard to them falsifying information to which they responded and encouraged me to contact Mike Smith....Which I did.
I soon learnt that Mike was indeed the real star of the show here and he shared the truth behind the whole shennanigans of Bob and Neal Price, I will include all of Mikes statements, they make everything clear.
I also include a response from RHS in regards to the Chelsea flower show, who clearly state that Chilli Bobs were not an exhibitor at the RHS Chelsea Flower show, despite Chilli Bobs claims that they were.
Mike Smith admits knowingly growing "infinity" chillis in his nano trials!
Despite their claims at association with Nano, Chilli Bobs had no access to Nano technology - they aren’t even registered to use it!
It was Mike Smith who had the exhibitor stall at Chelsea flower show (confirmed by the email from RHS), who also goes on to comment that Neal was actually escorted out by security, and is now not allowed to any RHS sites!
The plants they are selling have no bio security and are not fed on NANO!
The test results they show are very strange to say the least and completely different to Mikes original press release. (Check Andrew Jukes statement in the pics)
There are many many more flaws to this scam that they have pulled, have a browse through the pics.......Neal and Bob Price have told blatent lies throughout from day one, have been inconsistent in their stories, and fraudulently took the money from their own community.....Disgusting Creatures!
So people, we were right all along....there is no room for this bullshit and scammers in our community so other than asking for your money back stay well clear!!!!!!! Don’t trust a word they say they are just compulsive liars out for themselves, money and ego no different to Finley!
Everybody here will know how passionate I am about the chilli community, and how I encourage and represent it the best way I possibly can here in our UK, and indeed globally. I never ask for anything but this once, please share this post for me so no one else gets caught up with theses criminals of the community!
For any of you that have the ability to tag either Neil or Bob lightyear into this please do so as I cant!!!!
Like and share people, I want this to hit every corner of the globe!
Lets create the waves! To infinity and beyond!

That post looks extremely similar to that of a guy I know on Reddit by the username "Pascaleraeb". I came across him a while ago, asking what price he should be charging for fresh chillies (he claims to have a lot of cool varieties) and, being UK based, I figured I'd hit him up and see if he could be a potential supplier if I ever branch out into my own sauce production.

He was very friendly at first but seemed to get rather snarky quite quickly when I thought our conversation had ended and stopped replying.

When a Reddit user called for my opinion on the matter because they thought I'd proven trustworthy (yay!), I found him immediately jumping in to claim his various sources to be the people to trust. One of which, I might add, is Mike Smith, the guy who first took the Dragon's Breath to the press.

If I were to trust either side, it would not be Mike Smith. ChilliBob's may have come across seriously suspect and have probably not been honest here but Mike has clearly and very definitely lied to everyone. As well as having proven his poor knowledge of chillies on at least a few occassions.

I appreciate that the scam is being exposed but the exoneration of Mike Smith should not have any part in it and I'm beginning to get a little suspicious of my "buddy" Pascal.

EDIT: And, to disprove any claims that it's just the press twisting Mike's words, here's a Daily Post article where he says twice, on camera and in rapid succession that it's a world record: http://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/-hottest-chili-world-killer-anaesthetic-13042313
Just skip to 1:20 in the video.

In this case, the original post that juanitos copy/pasted above was by someone named "Stuart Roy" out of Calgary, Alberta on the Chiligrower group (hosted by the folks at Buckeye) on Facebook and I think on another group or two... So maybe they're just similarly minded. lol

With the same claimed actions against ChilliBob's and the same misattribution of the original Trinidad Scorpion's rating to the Infinity Pepper? Seems suspect to me.

This is silly.  Everyone knows Satan's Butt Plug is the next hottest pepper in the world.  I developed it myself by growing a moruga where I buried the first toe I lost.  Overwintered and made clones because it doesnt grow true without being planted over one of my toes and I only have so many to spare.

I did a THP search for "Dragon's Breath" as soon as I saw this, DRAGON'S BREATH so I could post it........

Edit: Note that plants won't ship until late April but you can order & pay now so they won't be Out of Stock later.

Seems Janie found a source to grow plants and I checked, there's no seeds available on the website.

Cool looking pepper. But the description says it is a Pepperlover strain, so I would assume that means it is a different pepper than the Dragon's Breath from the UK that got all the media coverage a while back.

AJ Drew grew Dragon's Breath peppers last year with seeds he got from Chilli Bobs in the UK. He is currently taking pre-orders for fresh peppers for 2019: http://www.peppersbymail.com/product/dragons-breath-csa-2019/

Yes, I have seen that picture before. I remember reading somewhere that Mike Smith picked that particular pod for the publicity photo because he thought that the shape resembled the dragon on the Welsh flag. That always made me wonder whether the pod in that photo was really a typical example or if it was just an anomaly. It sure doesn't look like any other superhots that I am familiar with. So, how did your pods turn out? Were they all tiny like that too? Any photos you can share?

edit:  Oh, you already answered that question. Still, I would be interested to see how your pods turned out, if you want to share any photos:)

In any case, AJ claims to have acquired seeds the same way you did. He even has photos of the package with the British customs sticker on his site: http://www.peppersbymail.com/product/dragons-breath-seeds-for-sale/

Regardless of heat, how's the flavor? That should always be the top priority.

Besides...who ever ate a chocolate bhutlah and thought it wasn't hot enough?
