I haven't competed but I've eaten plenty of fresh supers. Best advice I can give you is prep your gut whether you are gonna eat 1 of em or a 100. Somewhere here there is a thread with gut prep suggestions. If you compete try and get a vid and post it here, we dig that kinda stuff, you'll surely gain some THP fans.
+ 1 on gut prep I remember when I grew Judy's peach bhut ss I got my tolerance up no problem with eating them but man what a gut bomb!

Bummer. Its probably a good decision though. If you lack the confidence to do better than most of the field you shouldn't be doing it IMO. I suggest eating a whole fresh brown moruga or 7pot brainstrain before considering competition so you have an idea how bad things can get with cramps, burn, mouth pain, etc.
I did a jalapeño eating competition once at the Mexican fiesta, I ate 5, dude in my heat ate 6. Then someone in the third heat only ate 4 and they got 3 rd place, I got screwed. Then I had the worst stomach cramps ever that night, spent like 2 hours moving from the toilet to doubled up on the bathroom floor, I couldn't eat spicy food for a while after that, they weren't like any jalapeño I've ever had.
A few years back I ate half a daisy cutter telling the guy who grew it, it is yellow how hot can it be?..The mouth burning was nothing compared to how my gut felt an hour later..I still grow peppers from that pod..And it was what got me hooked growing superhots..
