top dressing mulch options listed

I located a supplier that has some nice options of various bagged mulches compared to the big box retailers.

Would you use any of these for a top dressing for raised beds and/or larger pots?

DARK HARDWOOD            2CUFT $4.00
PINE NUGGETS                 2CUFT $4.00
MINI PINE NUGGETS         2CUFT $4.00
DYED MULCH                     2CUFT $4.50
PINE STRAW BALES           2CUFT $7.00
CEDAR GRADE A                3CUFT $8.00
CYPRESS GRADE A            3CUFT $10.00

I use straw and finely shredded pine bark on my pots (whatever is on hand). Straw in my beds. They work great and are in that price range above.

Also cedar contains high levels of terpenes, so avoid cedar

Thanks for this! I have a bag of cedar chips I was considering using.

What would be the effect of terpenes on a plant?

It's hard for me to find information on this other than "don't use cedar"
