[Jun 5] What are you working on this week?

Trying to plant peppers if Mother Nature will co-operate. 8 more tomatoes to plant - in pots. Mulch tomatoes and peppers in ground.

'Get-rid-of' the leftover tomato and pepper plants. Think I have a person for the peppers, so now . . . the tomatoes.

Testing the efficacy of Sluggo on my pepper plants :|

I rescued a bumblebee hive (well, I rescued it, let's hope it lives) from a friend doing exterior work on his home; it was inside the wall, camped out in some insulation. It's a small hive and I got the plans for a "hive" off the internet: an inverted flower pot into which I jammed some chicken wire, old mouse nest (apparently they like the scent), and straw. On top, I put a couple small stones, a piece of slate as a roof over the entrance (flower pot drainage hole), then a heavy rock to keep it in place.

Waiting for some pods to ripen and my plants seem to be doing really good this year. I've been enjoying peaches, nectarines and plums from my trees this week. Other then that I'm just watering and fertilizing my plants and trees this week.

Bug annihilation. These rotten bast-holes have altered enough of my canopies. Things are getting better now (I think).

Tuck pointing is getting finished today and a couple other minor repairs like some steps.

Results of my homemade kelp extract are encouraging. There is a noticeable improvement over the control plant. Both are in identical soil and pots. Both were the same size when started. Both get the same amount of sun and identical fertilizer amounts other than the kelp extract.

Pots finally dried out enough for a watering with Alaska fish emulsion/homemade kelp extract/rain barrel water

Used a little Just Natural brand mushroom compost to top dress some pots and ate another Mucho Nacho jalapeno. This one was hotter than the first. :D

Up potted a Lumbre into its final pot in a heavy mushroom compost potting mix. The orange hab i used this on last year rocked so........
